Trick or treating seems to be a dud but Minion and I are having fun spawning jack-o-lanterns. It seems every year the devs come up with a new use for them. I hope this becomes a tradition. The masks are pretty cool.

sorta miss finding ones with my characters names on them, really brought shards together.

I miss those non killer jackolanterns that lit up too.
Not really into the killer ones, although I seen a few folks fighting em with their pet dragons. I have no tamer to do that.

Was kinda hoping those big light up jackolanterns with our chrs. names on em would return this year too, I guess not.

Quite a few of my chrs. never got one with their names on em, that light up.

But the killa ones look spiffy, as I watched a couple tamers do those in with their mega dragons, then I left the gardens.

I was really hopin our chr. named light up jackolanterns, would also been kept active again, this year too, so I could find the ones I never got before.

Ah well *sighs* nothing for me to look for, in the punkin patches this year.

Queen Zen, the killers were easy enough for my Paladin/TH (who has 200 points sunk into LP and mining/carto) to take on two at once, so it's likely you have a character up to the task.

Using a greater dragon is overkill beyond overkill.

I guess, Ima just not into collecting 'masks' of others' peoples names.

I was just lookin forward to finding [our own] *named* chrs.
light up jackolanterns again, esp. if we didn't find/get all our chrs.
light up jackolanterns, before. With like 24 chrs. on a shard, think I only lucked out to get 6 of my chrs. light up jackolanterns on Ches. last go round.
On Siege was far easier got all 4 chrs. light up named jackolanterns.

And yeh the entire community per shard helped folks find their/other folks' named light up ones, so that co operation/fun of the hunt, will be missing.

Well considering one of my Ches. homes is right next to the lil Moonglow south wheatfield, least I can do is offer a public trash barrel, set to anyone, for those whom are into killa jackolanterns and collecting masks.

The animation for the killer pumpkins are insanely awesome

After last year I had so many named pumpkins I ran out of storage. This was after a few town gatherings to trade with other players! So for me it's a nice change to go after collecting the named masks.

Queen Zen, the pumpkins are not that hard to kill unless a pure crafter. If you don't have necro you can still use the goat. Just put the pumpkins in a bag first before feeding him so he doesn't shy away.

I did find out something though, living nextdoor to a wheatfield pumpkin patch is a dire responsiblity this time o' year. lol

The first few reg lg. pumpkins that *grew* there, I opted to decorate my patio with, then found out NOTHING else spawned for like forever. So I took those lg. pumpkins to my Zento house. And THEN the Moonglow garden respawned.

Sooooooo I went to BRIT to get a few reg. lg. pumpkins to decorate at my Moonglow house. Guess if ya live smack dab next to a punkin patch, ya have to use pumpkins from [some other garden] not on same server line

or as a next door neighbor to a punkin patch you can't use those'same' pumpkins locked down, on your porch ...
or ya KILL the punkin garden spawning patch, off !

I wouldst not wish to KILL off someone else's fun ! lol

Its incredible how you can have a 13k post count and still be surprised at how the UO spawn engine works.

Best way to clear the pumpkins for respawn is a necro and a horde minion. Fill him up, dismiss him and start over. When dismissed his pack of pumpkins are gone.

Same method for 4 years of Halloweens now.

If anyone wants old big pumpkins on GL I have about 400 of them.

I did the horde minion thingie last year.

But I never lived right next door to a pumpkin patch during halloween,
where I could just place a trash barrel to see how that worked on a garden.

Thus 3mins after I throw the garden full of pumpkins into the trash barrel, they are eaten by they trash barrel & ergo the entire garden, respawns pumpkins again.
Therefore this year, first time living right next to one lil wheat field,
I canz do a 'community public service'.

Hmmmm........ It looks like "Trick or Treat" got nothing new this year as fas as that goes...

Items seem to be the same as last year with the only one change that now tricked colored clothing cannot be cut up (has this been confirmed?).

So the only new thing for this year's Halloween is the new Evil Pumpkins and the masks they carry as loot?

Or is there anything more new for this year ?

By the way, is there somewhere a comprehensive list of the patches that spawn the pumpkins ? I know about the one south of Moonglow but where else ?

For the items..like iron maden and covered chair,,do you use begging or Trick or Treat?
I find Trick or Treat has no time delay..but begging has a 8 sec delay..

Ya some jerks are already greifing the feilds by filling pack horse with the pumpkins and just moving them away from area some so that the feilds dont respawn..

i managed 2 fields (3 at first), for well over an hour (maybe 1.5hr+), got 4 killers, 2 had mask things. That spawn is waaay too slow for me - watching the grasses grow, literally.

On the other hand, the graphics were really good - Thanks Grimm - what can't the dev's get their schit together like the artists, huh? I won't be back. I'll wait for the rest of the event, if any

You may say I'm a whiner for complaining about the Trick or Treating...

But since it's inception Trick or Treating has been something I quite fondly look forward to... So Having it "spoiled" by taking away from last years fun as well as having it have the "same ole same ole" rewards pretty much takes the fun right out of it... So now after waiting a whole year to have some fun on my beggar... I'm sad to find that they took away the cool cloth gathering... and left me with the same rewards. That may excite you if you hadn't been there done that last year..... but as for me I'm not excited... I'm disappointed, yet again.


And you think I should be "happy" about it?

I'm hoping there is more to Halloween this season... And I'm hoping to hear about Vet rewards... but lately getting tired of the disappointment.


Tired of bugs... tired of waiting... tired of the lack of communication... and tired of dealing with them messing up all my account stuff.


I have given praise where it is due... Truly the killer pumpkins are awesome... killer even... I'm hoping next year they make them available somehow as a container that when turned "on" has that cool head pop up when you walk by... wouldn't that be sweet... but perhaps that's asking too much.

One can always dream and hope...

But if you don't tell them what is "wrong" or displeasing about an event or something how will they know to improve things??? Folk complain about being given the same ole same ole stuff... and all the "rehueing"...... of things renaming of rehued items.... and you wonder why they can't come up with new stuff.... well if you tell them it's awesome all the time why would they bother??? If you say "Hey! I'm kinda tired of the same ole same ole show here!" Maybe they might change it...

But no go ahead pat them on the back for spoiling the fun and giving us the same ole thing as last year... just go right ahead... and next year when it's the same ole thing x3... then tell me how exciting you think it is.

The brotherhood did in fact solicit advise from their "community", perfect example being Gandalf wanting Boromir to "tell me everything". While they did not need to go afk to solicit advise, they did have to go offpoint or off of their primary trek.

There are those of us who think "community" transcends the guild/alliance we are in. It transcends gen chat, and shard as well. The community on stratics is where word gets out to reach the masses instead of only a select few per shard stumbling onto something good and keeping it for themselves.

Of course that's just my opinion, I leave it to you to dissect and tear apart if the mood so strikes

I didn't buy that addon, but from what I understand you CAN "throw" a bottle to someone.
