[Bushido] Training Bushido?

Does training with an unguilded character on a pet horse no longer work? I've tried several times and I keep killing the horse. I believe I'm following the instructions in the guide correctly, but either I'm not or the method doesn't work any longer.

1) Unguilded horse
2) Fast weapon with no AOE
3) Tame horse

If the method doesn't work post pet revamp, what is the current method of training Bushido that other people are using these days?

You could stone it to a Tamer, Tame something that has a high resist, low wrestling and lots of hp, use a weapon that targets the strongest resist with low base damage.

You could even use a mage weapon.

Alternatively you could train while hunting.

to get back to the original question: has someone tried the "whacking an unguilded pet in trammel" approach lately?
I never used this since Siege has no trammel but I was bored and made a char on Atlantic to test this and couldn't get it to work either.

Wacking on a guildies arctic ogre lord works fine, if u use a 100% poison weapon.
