For those of us that have played UO for over a decade, we can remember cities and hot spots brimming with player activities and interactions. What do we have now...Luna bank?
I think we should bring back the towns and taverns in UO, that gave this game its "cult" status back in the old days, but trying to do so in the post-AoS era has just been futile since the advent of Luna. Personally, I missed the times recalling to Brit forge to find a smith to repair my armor, walking to trinsic weaponsmith to buy a new halberd, or running to Magincia to purchase reagents. Towns/NPCs have become relics of the past, each shop keeper in Luna all within close proximity, and now player vendors.
I'd like to see a change to shop keepers/stocks in general, different towns specializing in different goods. Luna can keep the generic ones, but a mage shop keeper in Magincia should have special items to buy from, Weaponsmiths from Trinsic selling special weapons, Britain armorshops selling special armors, etc, etc.
The flip side to this, is felucca factions. Controlling a town will actually mean you control the special items, prices, etc. Each item equally important for a player, so not to make 1 piece more sought after than another.
For example, NPCs selling armor pieces with 550 maximum imbueable property intensity, priced at 1-mil per piece. Only the Armor shops in Brit sell plate armors, Skara: leather armor, Trinsic: chain, Yew: wood armor, etc, etc. Each town gets different weapons. Will also be a gold sink, each vendor having 999 of the item available.
Drop the LRC cap from 100% to 80%. Bring reagents back to UO, they used to be a big part in the economy and game, but they have all but lost their identity. Allow an insurable reagent pouch with limited maximum capacity, set weight limit similar to quivers, so that like an archer, will have to resupply.
*gets off his soapbox*
Dunno what got into me after work today...haha, comments?
