Town Banners. (Small change needed)

I hate to say this but for the love of God... I have over 50 characters on GL's alone.... I have ZERO desire to remember just who I worked up to Adored in what City... till the end of UO. I mean just what am I expected to do?????? Keep a freaking speadsheet on every stinking item I obtain ingame... just in case at some point I move and/or want to redecorate?????? Give me a break.... why don't they make things just a bit more complicated eh????

Pity sakes.

I too would like to know just what genius came up with this idea! What's that for so I don't sell them????? Well gee don't they think that either a) If I went to all the trouble of grinding out all those points in freaking loyalty especially to cities like Yew and Brit that I actually DO want to keep the freaking thing and that it IS important enough to me to grind that for 2 days?????? or that b) After busting tail grinding all that crap out for hours and hours I might DESERVE to make a buck or two in selling that to some poor sap who doesn't have 500 hours to waste leading NPC's about with a rope????

Oh and for the record I'd like to bequeath a "boot to the head" to the DEV who thought that up upon the death of my fingers and wrists after I have carpal tunnel surgery for all that stinking clicking over the last few weeks.... Jeff I leave that up to you...

Personally, I would have made the loyalty account bound per shard.

That is, all characters in an account could only be loyal to a Town, period........

My miner/blacksmith had his start in Minoc and is loyal (or was, he has decayed into not being quite so loyakl anymore )
My Scribe/Mage/Alchemist was a royal tutor in Trinsic.
My warrior is loyal in Jhelom.

Account bound loyalty would force characters not not be loyal to where their true loyalty lies.

For now, I do like the City Banner arrangement and consider it well designed; As, these are not items that can be farmed for profit. This enables ANY player the chance to obtain their own banner - without shopping for it, and minimizes the mass flooding of competition to rope up the rioters for vendor sales. This make the item very special imho. I've gotten Yew & Trinsic so far & am pleased - it was nice to tromp through some areas I'd not ventured for many moons - I'll get a couple more & hang em up over time.

I originally worked up loyalty on three characters (all loyal to the same town). Had to work it back up again on my house owner because it decayed when I was away from the game for a couple of weeks. I guess I'll have to keep her loyalty up (she bought and placed a banner), but is there any compelling reason to keep working on the other two characters?

As long as you're happy that 'over time', every time you want to move, rehang or adjust your banner, you'll need that character to top up their constantly decaying town loyalty or they won't be able to place it - then that's fine.

Rather a lot of us think that's a pretty ridiculous situation though.....
