The barrel is very cool. It smokes.

I've locked it down and also secured it.
I have dropped items in the barrel now, but i cannot open the barrel to retrieve those items.
Can someone help me with this?
Am I missing something?
when i double click it, it smokes. When I double click it again it tells me, "You can't use this right now"

Put it in a pack animal. If it's anything like the Pacific sarcophagus, that's how you can normally open the container. Needless to say it isn't intended to be a container since it has a clickable.

What is the valid point of making a barrel that functions as a container, including the contents area below the title - if it cannot be used as a container.

Barrels from other shards working as barrels, make this thing look silly.


I totally get that this barrel should not function both as a container and a clicky... I just don't get how after 18 years that we can't figure out how to make a rare clicky barrel that doesn't allow contents to be held in it!

Apparently with the new school event items, if you make a container event item to have an ability like sparkle, smoke, flame strike or sound, it cannot also be used as a "normal" container, its one or the other. The old school event items could have a sound and work as a container. Not sure why they can't do it anymore.

I don't think ive ever seen a container with a sound have this problem.

This has been an OLD OLD issue even with older items. Been happening for years. Like others have said, put it in a packhorse or on a vendor and you can remove the items from it.

Well, this won't work for me.
I planned to use it as a container to hold items for vendor resupply.

I'll trade this item for one of the other recent event barrels that does function as a container. Let me know.
I will also sell this for 125m if anyone is interested. At least it's a cool title!

Ha, no - i always test event containers with bandages that are readily in my pack. Not worried about what's in the barrel. More worried about needing a Rare barrel for holding items!
