That was me too. I had never gotten a stag item etc. This was the first one I was lucky enough to be around for.

Also, it seems they can be hand folded by the UO Team or EM's.

like a purple fairy, also they should tell you on gen chat where they are, from my exp. Only one I got so far was on nappa and the fairy spoke on gen chat and told us where to go.

Do they show up at certain locations of a town like for example around the bank ? Or it can be anywhere in a town ?

Also, does this happen only evenings or is it across all day long ? Like, at any time of day they are at least present in one town...........??

Apparently, they only show up "evenings", whatever that means, and I get the impression that they are an Event Moderator thing ? That is, that they may not be from the game engine itself but actually need an Event Moderator to make it happen which means that they need to be tied to whatever available time the Event Moderator might have at hand.....

Besides, they seem to be only available for a very short time as 19 through 22 means just 3 "evenings"........

Talking about that, given that it seems this is an Event Moderator thing, very shortly spanned (3 evenings........) and who knows for how little time each evening (1 hour ? just 30 minutes ? Who knows......), I would have imagined that it was announced a schedule for all Shards of which days and what shards/times the Sugar Plum Fairies were available...

It looks to me that as it is now, players need to be lucky to just "bump" into them "if" they happen to be playing the Shard on the day and exact time that the Event Moderator has time to be on...... And, on top of that, also happen to be walking the same town and same area of town that the Sugar Plum Fairies are at.......

I mean, way but way too many coincidences to actually make it, IMHO, reasonably possible for players to get their Christmas Dragon.

I think it should be advertised with ample margin of time when, where and location of Town where players on a given Shard might find the Sugar Plum Fairies so that if they wish so, they can get their Christmas Dragons.

Well, I bumped into this post http://vboards.stratics.com/2064257-post2.html and the player on Catskills reports on finding the Sugarplum Fairy in no town BUT "Deep" into the middle of the Ice Dungeon..........

How many are the chances that a player might "bump" into a Sugarplum Fairy "deep" into a dungeon ?? Personally, I do not find this as reasonable.

Not all players have enough time to extensively play, especially on Holidays. Many players do have lots of other things to do in between family and friends and so, it becomes almost impossible to "bump" by accident into the exact day, time and location across all of Sosaria which is a very vast territory, in order to claim their Christmas Dragon.

There needs to be a detailed schedule, posted days in advance, so as to allow players to organize with their time and be able to make it possible to arrange to play UO on that day, at that time and at that location where the EM Event for Christmas Sugarplum Fairies is planned.

I really cannot understand why EM Events cannot be better and more precisely advertised.

I can't understand how players miss the obvious then complain.

Well, take for example this EM Event http://vboards.stratics.com/catskills-em-forum/257182-winterfest-2011-monday-tuesday-schedule.html.

It was posted on 12-12-2011, 05:37 AM and it was for Events on Monday, December 12th (8pm EST - Archery Competition at the Fairgrounds), which is the same day as the posting, and for Tuesday, December 13th (8pm EST - Igloo Building Competition) which was the day after the one of the posting.

On the http://catskills.uoem.net/ Catskills EM Events page, the 19th December Finale was only posted 2 days prior to that (on December 17th). Such a short notice might be plenty for some players, but it could just as well be completely insufficient for other players with much less time flexibility...

What I am trying to say, is that I can imagine that there is players with ample flexibility with their time who can just log in for an Event for that same day, but I would also imagine that there may be players less flexible with their time who may have problems attending to an UO Event on their home Shard for the same day they knew it, or the immediate days after they were able to know about a given Event. And this, assuming that they browse Stratics or their home Shard's EM Events web site every day or every other day, and not less frequently.......

What I am trying to say, is that perhaps announcing EM Events at least like a week before (considering also that some players might not take notice of the announcement on the day or the days immediately after posting it....), might help having the Events more participated ?

I also checked right now the Events town crier on Catskills Luna (Townsend the Event Announcer) and he still has the Monday 19th (8 PM east) Event only. No Fairies mention at all. Since today is the 20th, I wonder how many days of advance notice will Catskills players get before the Fairies start appearing on that Shard (considering that the Ice Dungeon appearance was a bonus and not a scheduled one......). Christmas will be 5 days from now.....

All I know for sure so far is when the Fairy has shown up on Atlantic. I know of two times so far, one in the afternoon range and one in the late evening range on 12/19. I only know the place for the second showing, and that happened to be at WBB.

Honestly I like the way the Fariy is going about handing out these gifts. Placing a clicky eliminates the rants and spiels of favoritism that ran rampant last year when it came to the stag. Also, with the Fairy showing up unannounced and sporadic it gives those folks that may really need some holiday cheer a little something. I don't know about y'all but the amount of time spent in UO shows a direct colrelation to how "good" life is in the real world. The crappier life is, or the more it's beating my arse, the more time I spend in game. Call it stress relief, avoidence or whatever you deem it. I think that holds true for alot of folks. For those folks a suprise run thru by a fairy dropping off some NICE looking pixels may brighten not only their day, but their week. Hell, for some it may brighten their whole Christmas. I say don't change a thing. *shrugs*

Ohhhhh and the bunnies? Wonder what else may be out there?

Guess I'll have to pass up the chance to meet up with that Sugarplum Fairy! lol These days, the only time I log in is to refresh my ships. Too much happening right now during the holidays... family members just wouldn't understand if I was spending this time playing UO.

I logged in earlier to refresh the ships, recalled to Brit to stash something in my bank box, and lo and behold, the Sugarplum Fairy was there. Those paper dragons are as cute as can be!

Only took 6 hours of solid waiting around at the old West Brit Bank... but shockingly, I actually got one.

For the record... WAY-WAY-WAY smarter then the White Stag. I guess yelling about this for the last 3 years, they worked it out so you click on one of the new Father Christmas statues and you’ll get the prize. This vs. the dropping randomly on the ground so only the fastest and the cheaters win.

Atlantic has this other thing going on... real Christmas spirit. Get nothing, get nothing because of greedy masses snapping up whatever’s dropped... get murdered by the EM. lol. Nothing says Christmas more then that! Thankfully I have a paper dragon and now I’m happy.
