Title Setting System

I was hoping some refining could be done with this system? As it stands it was a great addition to the game but some things like, showing guild tag with an overhead title in place would be great.

Also, I would really like to be able to set some titles that can only be used as a subtitle (hovered over title) as an overhead title. Primary example for me would be... I own an Abyss house and have the title "Warden of the Abyss" available. As it stands I can only have this title appear when hovered over and I would like to be able to have this as an overhead title so it would be:

CharacterName, Warden of the Abyss

Ideally I would really like:

CharacterName, Warden of the Abyss [guildtag]

I wish they would rework most of the new titles because I just absolutely hate (hate is a strong word but I think I'll stick with it) them.

e.g. Biologist/Naturalist/Demoralizer/Driven/Infiltrator/Duelist/Rouser/Warder/Spy/Rouge (I think Spy and Rouge should switch places)/Praegustator

And wtf is a "Driven" anyway, is that even a noun?

I like the title for the character that gets it (only the actual house owner on the account, not all 07 characters) and would like to display it overhead.

Regardless even if that is not possible I'd like to be able to be say:

Beleth the Mage [OES], instead of having to be hovered over to display the guild. As it stands in our roleplay community during wars it is often difficult to tell which guild an enemy is in if you do not know beforehand.

Sounds like you are talking about the WoW title system , where , when you earn a title , you can select it from a menu , then , it will show up with your character name and guild.

The problem with that is, by default, WoW always displays the names of all characters , so , if you have a lot of people in a small area , there is a lot of spam on the screen , which does get in the way.

The solution is , in the game options , you can chose weather or not to display the guild names and/or titles. The way I have it set up is to show the names of players , but hide titles and guild names. The tooltip I get when I mouse over someone will show the guild name. This keeps the on screen spam to a minimum , and peeps can still flex their epeen in their own little world.

See problem is, in UO there is no setting to force overhead guild titles so in our community we enforce the "must have guildtags on" rule. This worked in the past but now that overhead titles cannot be displayed with the guild tag [---] at the end, many people obey the actual rule and have titles on hovered over but you cannot directly identify who they are by just hitting all names.

It's just be nice if they would reenable the 3rd line like they said they would months ago.

It would be nice not to have to choose to only display one title under our names. Why only show our guild, or only show a title we've earned?

Regardless of my request for Special Titles (ie. Warden of the Abyss) being allowed to be used as Overhead titles (like the Mage), wouldn't it be great if guild titles could be displayed like this again?

I too have been strugglling to find the title option for 'Smartest Man in UO'. Please fix this.

Does the title of anyone else change on its own? I'll set my title in the EC to show "name the blank", then the guild comment/nickname under. And every time I log in I have to fix it, and when I fix it, it doesn't get changed right away. the whole title system seems a little buggy. this is in the EC running copper enhanced.

I brought this up in a question to the devs before. They said they would look to make changes to this at a later date after they had gotten feed back. I hope they do change it to allow ones guild title as well as a reward title to be used at the same time as before the change. Picking between the guild title and a reward title one spent so long to get isnt fun.
