How obnoxious
I do think it become to complicated. In the past, you could have 7 gm skills and do well.
Now some skills go to 120 and getting 7 x 120 is not possible
In the past, you did not need so many support skills. That make it harder to build a char, who can both do combat and some crafting. Sure I know, the hardcore PvP'er will always use every point for combat.
Increasing the cap without a cap for how many points used for combat and how many used for crafting may make everything crazy.
What about increasing it to 800 but make it so skills from items only can add skills up to 90 in a skill, so if you already have 90 real skills, you won't be able to use points on items to raise it higher. You could still use items to raise skills below 90.

Actually, compared to other boards this board is pretty clean. Some of them get pretty nasty, and also have a lot of Bots post porn ads etc.
I like coming to this one, and even though we don't always agree, and throw some lame insults at each other occasionally (guilty), I don't hold any of that personally.
We, for the most part, are able to set things aside and move forward.
If we all agreed on the same things it would be a pretty boring game and so would these forums.

It's not bad, been hitting up AC: Syndicate lately though.
I've been playing Diablo III Reaper of Souls for awhile now. On my 3rd season now I think.
I forgot how much I liked these types Of games with a story line.
Reminds me of the ultima series or Baldurs Gate, ice wind etc
*laughs* Baldurs Gate.... my nemesis game. First time I started playing it... Totally loved it... My first computer. Got about half way... and then shortly after I installed UO (got to play it all of maybe 2 hours)... Hard drive crashed... lost everything. So... ages later new Hard Drive I decide to try Baldurs Gate again. I get about half way thru and one day while I am at work my Daughter runs over disk 5 with the desk chair shattering it. *sigh*..... so... Year or two later my son says "Hey Ma... You know that Balders Gate is on Steam? I got it for you!" So I get all excited on my 2nd computer now.... I get about half way thru the game.... and terrible storm... kills my computer, my fridge, and my A/C. *sigh* I haven't the heart to try playing it again. I'm afraid next time I might lose my house.
That's the kind of luck I have in UO... but after reading this, I guess it could be worse...

My friend is power leveling me as we speak heh. Seriously though diablo vs BG seires... no. Diablo is just smash stuff for hours to get shiny things, BG is actually story driven.

I had a friend do that..... with my Wizard. You know..... I don't like my Wizard much. I like the characters I went slowly through the game on.
Group of friends play hardcore together, so we are always leveing each other heh cause of lag spikes, and foolishness.
I skipped the majority of the pages but I vote no to increasing skill caps.
I've played on freebies with 800+ skill caps and it's absolutely a Special Olympic type of ********. Add in the +skill items already in game and you've got a complete joke of a once great game.

I'm going through campaign which is story driven
I mean, yeah, there's a story, but it's just window dressing for the systems, unlike bg were the systems serve the story, and you interact and make choices. Doesn't matter, have fun with it.
And take away all power scrolls,pre pub 16.Lets go back to 700!

Why Pre-Pub 16? I'd rather Pre-Pub 6
16 was when they made PS and a 7xGM was a good char.
No please don't. 800 will be a mess. There is something called insurance in this game, which is the reason why there are such valuable pieces of armors. It takes time and effort to build a powerful player and that's how it should be. If you raise skill cap to 800 then those with super uber armors will become even more powerful.... If cap was 800 that will mean I could have 100 alchemy AND 100 healing on my ninja/stealth/archer. Do you imagine how annoying that would be? and impossible to kill?

That's EXACTLY how the game was when it was 7 x 100.
The last 4 of my 14 accounts are being closed this month. There will be 3 nice 18x18 spots and a keep in Fel available soon on Pacific.

Skills were weighted after the change. Let alone the addition of skills post 700 cap. (Publish 16)
This is not the case in the request.
But I'm sure people will be chomping at the bit to get those spots...
