Thank you for the kind words. There are plenty of good people on Legends. Even though he has an opposing view point, Ironhand1 is a good guy, and he plays on Legends.BardMal i like what you have said in this thread. Seem like you have your hed on strait. Nice to know we have some decent people on legends. Nice to know there are like minded people there out side my guild. Would like to meet ya in game some time.
I was listening to a really beautiful girl give a speech once. She said something that really stuck with me,
"I used to go through life loving things, and using people, which was really easy for me. One day my life collapsed, and through a series of events I discovered that I had it backwards. In life we are supposed to use things and love people."
When we keep these in the right order, we live more effective lives, and are happier. In game, out of game; the mentality is the same. But when you associate with those who have this order backwards, they will splatter mud on your favorite cloths.
All humans suffer from a terminal form of mental illness. Revenge, the need to "get over on someone" and the desire for justice are symptoms of this illness. How we treat someone's character in a game is not a reflection of how we feel about them; it is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves.
When someone uses a "cheat program" to "get over" on someone else, what they are really saying (quietly to themselves) "I am nothing of value, but if I can get this person to be below me, perhaps I can find my value in their subordination".
The truth is, our greatest value is when we lift others up around us. What ever you do to someone else, you, quite literally, are doing to yourself.
For me, participating in game play where people act cruel, and use cheats, makes me as guilty as them, even if my participation is as their "innocent" victim.
