Are you being serious? This event sucks compared to prior years. You do a ridiculous grind for hour upon hour to get some crystal orbs. Then you take 50+ of those orbs and dbl click each single one and target an NPC. Meanwhile some stealther is sitting there watching and waiting, giving you just enough time to place 40-49 orbs on the NPC then he starts doing the same thing. Viola! NPC Cured... stealther pops out says THANK YOU for using all your orbs to try to cure him and giving ME the robe that you worked so hard for. OR... you can do the same grind and get some red colored orbs and go trade them in to another NPC for some absolutely USELESS costume wand. Wooohoooo Welcome to Trammyland! Oh and you can also get maybe 1 out of 100 yellow orbs that you can dbl click and summon a monster that it takes either an exploit or 4+ people to kill. If your lucky enough to get this monster killed, assuming you opted against the exploit method, you have a small chance of getting a lesser propertied robe drop from that monster, maybe 1 out of 5 monsters drops the robe.....then you divide that tiny chance by the number of people that you have to have there to kill it, and you come up with your chance of getting the robe. So, you worked for 3-5 hours to get a yellow crystal, and you get a .1% (didnt do the math but the % is very small) chance to get the reward.I don't know what happened to UO, but somebody over there finally knows how to give us some great content!!! WooHOO!!!

At least in the years past, multiple "baddies" spawned at all the public graveyards. You could go from graveyard to graveyard killing them, increasing your odds of getting the reward even with a crowd of people there.
I for one am certainly happy that they finally figured out how to dumb some grind down enough that they could make you trammies happy while keeping your head stuck up your rear.
Dont get me wrong, I am not complaining because I have not gotten any of the newest "leet" robes, in fact so far I have gotten 11 of them. I am simply saying this is a mindless grind that was not very well thought out in the fact that you can lose hours worth of work because it doesnt matter if you put 49 cures on the NPC and someone else puts the 50th (assuming that 50 is the magical #) the someone else then gets YOUR reward. Yeah this makes all kinds of sense.
And magic wands that turn you into a monster???? Come on, thats just stupid. What possible use could those be other than to some trammie or RPer or most likely a trammie RPer.
Add some content that people will enjoy without having to do a mind numbing grind for hours on end.

LMAO! So, its fine for all you trammies to whine and cry, but not ok for me to point out the stupidity of this event? I have nothing to cry about, if you had read my post you would have seen that I have gotten 11 robes. I simply pointed out how bad this was designed.
Stay in Trammel where you belong sir, or better yet pm me what shard you play and where you would like to meet in Fel and I will show you what I do for fun in game.
The fact that you had to make an alt account to complain speaks volumes.

Don't you think it's kind of cowardly to make another Stratics account just to complain about the event? I'm sure there are many Felpers enjoying the content, and 11 robes? If you didn't enjoy it WHY keep doing it? Makes no sense to me at all...

Well, I agree with the majority. I love this new expansion and I love this Halloween deal. Yeah sure, it could be made better, but I have NO complaints about it at all and I could not have designed anything anywhere as good as this, myself. If anyone else can think up a better way to do all this, go make a Free Shard. I think the Devs are trying hard and imho, they are doing a wonderful job. Sure, constructive crit is good, but pancakes is not the way to improve anything.

First of all I did not make another account just to complain. In fact like someone else pointed out I have had this accout for a month or more. Why havent I posted before? Quite frankly, this entire site is full of trammie care bears and I havent seen anything worth posting about. The only reason I posted today was to point out the horrible flaws in this event, and yes to post my opinion as to how bad it sucks. Guess what, Its MY opinion you cant take it away with flames, so stfu all of you.
And someone said something about me complaining yet having 11 robes... well yes it is an ignorant system, and yes I have 11 robes..... I will sell 10 of them to you trammies at enormous prices, just like I have EVERY other event item in the past 10 years. Thats the only good thing about you trammies, you dont mind buying UO gold to pay me wonderfully for items that you yourself cant get. Now before someone jumps to the conclusion that I must play 24 hrs per day 7 days a week, let me state that I have a full time good paying job and I only play about 3-4 hours per night and a few hours on the weekends. I simply know HOW to play the game. So again, let me sum it up,
1) this event was designed very poorly and SUCKS.
2) I am still going to make a mint off of all you carebears
3) I could care less what you think about me, my post count, etc etc
4) Stay in trammel where you all belong

It IS a grind... evidently they hired a bunch of WoW devs to design this. This event does not at all even feel like a UO event. If I wanted to play a stupid game like WoW I would be paying them instead of EA. However, I have payed for 3+ UO accounts for 10+ years.... dont make my game into WoW because of carebears.

Just to point out this game would have died if not for trammel. I do PvP but a game where you are always at risk at being killed, no matter your class, gets annoying fast. So take your "carebear" nonsense and shove it.

Like I said... stay in Trammel where you belong. I will stay in Fel where I belong. I do not agree with your logic that trammel saved the game from dieing, in fact trammel ruined what UO was. You obviously have no idea how many people quit soon after the release of trammyland.
I'm loving most everything... not fond of the blue crystal BS but the rest of the stuff us totally awesome...
Especially the brand new art not some rehued renamed BS... but brand new art... that totally does NOT suck.

Well the unfathomable lag is what got me to stop.
There's no one on the entire sub-server and i'm moving (on horse) as if in reaper form?
Must be because of the high-quality 2d graphics.
And yet you do...
i always thoughtthe best thing about UO is that you can pretty much do whatever you want. If this "grind" bothers anyone so much....don't do it. Pretty sure nobody is forcing anyone to do it. If they are, get a message out to us, and we can get a SWAT team over to your house to save you from the evil "grind"
If you're in monster form you're running around on foot...?

Oh gotcha, you mean when not transformed and getting residue. Maybe try to fight tougher stuff where you don't have to run around as much in a more centralized area like liches or demons? I do succubi but those are probably not recommended for people with lag issues.

where it is like Doom or the Tokuno event where you got points for
healing. I have yet to do the quest due to company so I really do not
know how it works.

than we have in years. No offense prior Dev Team.

Well that's the thing, with lag that makes the game run at one frame per second or so, it's impossible to fight anything tougher than mongbats. And besides the gypsy quest is a race against the timer and lag cuts productivity in half at least.
... and i was talking about gathering the sparkles.

ya gathering the sparkly is a pain on foot in monster form, I was carrying up to 20 refresh potions just to keep my speed up. And I would do like before changing forms, gather as many of the white crystals from the moongrass before going monster. Normally I would have 8 to 12 of those so I could run in monster form twice as long and I also used one of these to mark runes to places I seen red sparkly spawning.
When I was ready to cure a NPC, I made sure to carry in 60 of the blue crystals and sought one of the NPC needing to be cured. Once I did Carl in the Orc dungeon, another time I did one at the mage tower in Shame. I only did it twice as two robes were all I wanted, one for me one for the wife. Any Blue crystals left are to be given to guild members to help them with the quest.
