thinking on coming back

I have not played UO for about 3 years now. I have been thinking about trying it again.

Is it worth it? Has there been upgrades that I would need to buy? Do places still sell game time codes or do I need a credit card?

What shard were you on? I think paybycash.com might have gametime... maybe... and umm you would need about 3-5 new upgrades to purchase.. but all in all its still the great game you remember!

I played on chesepeke and napa, oceanic i think they were.

Do you know if my chars and stuff will still be there? I know my houses would be gone, but wondering about the stuff in packs and bank.

Do you know if there is any "come back and play" codes out there to come back in and see what it is like?

Not at the moment there isnt but you can sign up for the 14 day free trial and try a new account to see the activity.. and then decide if you wanna open your accounts back up.

Ummm im not sure... i dont think so and im pretty sure if you buy the boosters you dont get sa... or if you get the theme packs you dont get anything previous... in 3 years i think the only "expansion" would be SA right?

All accounts have been automatically upgraded to the ML (Mondain's Legacy) expansion. If you return, you'd need to get the SA (Stygian Abyss) expansion, and possibly the High Seas Booster Pack. The two newer packs are only "if you want that content" packs and you can easily do without them. The SA expansion is the big one with great content.

I'd just return and get a feel for the place. The watch the EA-Store. They have been having regular sales on SA and High-Seas.

Perpetually unhappy Stratics posters aside, things are okay and I'm having a good time. Imbuing makes it possible to get some very decent gear without being a trillionaire, the Abyss is a good place for even normal people to make decent money, and I love the player-crafted dyes. No more paying a squillion gold for years-old tokuno dyes.

The only expansion you really need is Stygian Abyss. It's great.

High Seas isn't a full expansion and the ship combat will never make you any loot anyway. The recently-released Gothic and Rustic packs are basically just small sets of housing tiles and a few fluff items you won't care about.

I have been playing the 14 day trail and some of the things still seem the same, and other seems different. Would be nice to be on my old chars tho as they were pretty good, haha but will see what happens.

BTW do they still have the moongates to get around?

havent found the one in new haven yet.

The Haven moongate is just off to the left of the bank, outside town a bit. What shard are you on? If you're on Atlantic I'll keep an eye out for you, our Haven is pretty well-populated.

I found the moongate and made my way to britian. Honetly it has not changed alot tho.

I cant figure out how to mine or skin yet tho, haha some things are coming back, but others are just plain lost in my mind, haha

No it is not worth it. Wait until the rumors of the dungeon upgrades actually surface and then come back.

I recently came back to the game myself after several years and I'm finding that I enjoy it still. It's definately changed quite a bit but you get used to it. I love the macro abilities on the EC. All my stuff was still in the bank and my old house spot was even empty!
