but i havent played in years on an offical shard (did play some free shards when i first got the itch but those shards are messed up). Hows the population on Pasific and Seige? Would it be worth it to start a new account or try and reactivate my old one and buy all the exspansions ive missed? And any guild recruiting on those servers?

Thanks

Reactivate, you'll only have to Buy SA they've given everyone access up to threw ML anyways.

Things have changed a lot depending at which time you left UO.

There is not as much population as it used to be, again, it depends at which time you left the game. I think that it has improved a bit since the last expansion came out, but in no way is the same ammount of people ultima had a long time ago.

As nexus said, re-activate your account, that would give you access up to everything besides the last expansion. If you like what you see, then upgrade the account to get access to the Stygian Abyss (I still haven't done this myself but I probably will soon).

You can open a trial account to look around too and then decide if you want to reopen your account

I started a new account about a year ago, after not playing for many years. This is certainly not the same game it was all those years ago. However, there is still a lot to enjoy, its still Ultima Online after all. I would start with the trial and if you like what you see reactive your old account. That way you'll be eligible for vet rewards and such...

I know, from experience, starting from an age 0 account is dissapointing. :(

But seriously, don't start a new account, you'll be a bit miffed later that you'll have to wait FOUR years before you can get the same skill cap as your veteran account.

And if you have any items at all, and I do mean anything, don't sell/give/throw any of it away without having someone who you trust that knows about rares look at it.

Seriously though, best bet is to use the trial account option. Look around some of the different shards, speak to people in-game, then make your own decision.

Only down side with a trial account, is I don't think you can access the new expansion content, but still, you'll get an overall impression of how things are.

This. Many items that were pretty common back in the day can fetch a pretty decent amount of coin sometimes. Welcome back to UO (hopefully!).

Ill have to open my account and take a look this weekend. I played from just before T2A till Blackthorns revenge but likely lost most of my items when my house would have decayed years and years ago lol.

Iam not sure about the population on pac and sp, but I suggest yo give the new client a try when you return.

Have a look in this thread to see some possibilities the new client offers.

Yes you will be able to do the new character quests in New Haven. As long as the skill you wish to do the quest in is below 50 you can do the quests. And...Welcome back!
