ive read the web sites, i am gonna give it a shot i feel. i have a question about realm selection. while i understand the types of realms, how do you know which realm has the best connection for you? i see there are a ton of them to choose from. ( waiting for client to DL, so not sure if pings are shown on a log in scren)

You probably won't find there's a lot in it, or that it will make a lot of difference to be honest.

You may find 'busier' servers are slightly slower because of the increased work they are doing with a higher population.

It's picking the 'type' of realm that is a far more important decision really.

I do not know how it is done but each time I start an account it seems to find/pick about 5 really good connections for me. Of course, you can go into the large list and find a certain server you'd like to have or just grab one of their recommended sites.

Being from Colo you might do well as I do in Wyo on the West Coast servers.

I play Kilrogg a normal server and Kirin Tor, a RP server.

Let us know if you have more questions.

All servers are technically located in the same location but they all have fairly good connections. The only difference being some servers have different clocks [Est, Cst, Pst] never been able to figure out how to check the timezone from the server list myself but you'll easily notice the time and time zone via the in-game clock [Sun/Moon button on the mini map.]

Have fun in WoW. =]

I play on Whisperwind and have a guild of very helpful individuals, the leaders of the guild all played on Great Lakes UO till two years ago, myself included. I still play UO but love the intereaction in WoW and the constantly changing makeup of groups etc.

if I can help in anyway feel free to PM me
