Is it the game I enjoyed back when I started or something else entirely. I started playing sometime in late 2000....I think. Fel was still heavily populated, callin someone a carebear was a good insult, thieves could disarm you and take yer favorite viking sword with those nifty ghouls touch charges, having magic resist was a must, your miner had better be a halfway decent mage or swordsmen or he had no business mining at all! Know what im saying.. I think it was the renaisance certainly pre aos. You know no arties, quivers, lrc all that happy stuff, I Dunno know I suppose I could read over tons of posts to get an idea of what Siege is like, but not only do I have a bad memory but Im lazy too. So what I want to know is what am I getting myself into

getting involved with a great community and people. some jerks but alot of mature people here... just choose wisely in a guild when you do join one. You will be judged by it forever it seems...

There is also a new guild which helps new players to siege for a month. MOST vertran players wont attack u with this title on. TRy to get in touch with shalimar.

Overall good people, tight community, low population. It's not quite a 2000 era setting, but it works pretty well.

Just watch out for the dismount tamers, and life should be enjoyable.

Siege is most definitely not old UO. It is dominated by items just like every other shard, so that would be an adaptation you'd have to make to play here. That said, it definitely has a far better community than any other shard.

I think that "just like any shard" is a stretch. You only need to find one good items here rather than like 20.

Well Thankx for the response, I have In fact decided to make the move to Siege. Its been a good week now and despite the gameplay changes I found that Siege is In fact the shard Id known and loved when I first started playing. Everyone that runs onto your screen you have some kind of interaction with be it a positive one or not. Running around in the wilderness gathering resources is fun again, very exciting when your runnin back to town loaded up and a red gets after you just outside the guard zone. It is definatly the game I remember. I want to give a huge thank you to Abbi for her kind words and encouragement and to Illegal Means for the great gear. I think Ive been robbed a few times, how awesome is that!

Whats awesome is to see someone come back to siege with such a great attitude instead of complaining about reds, ganks and thieves. Have any other friends who understand that these sorta challenges are what makes Siege fun? Bring em over!

You are not allowed to come to siege until you learn to be brief and use paragraphs.

Well folks, What I Need now is some info on some of your guilds, especially the roleplaying pvp sort.
My end result for me toon is a nox fencer, got the 70 mage to gate off scrolls to be self sufficent when traveling.
I fight with honor and am chivalrous in nature. Not lookin for the biggest baddest guild out there, I like a challenge and 15 on 3 isnt challenging heh.
Hit me up folks! Immediatly after resigning from NEW on the 30th I would like to find a good group of folks to "hunt" with. DAGR sounds great, tell me more.

Oh and I like to ramble so get used to long posts bud
