Things I would ask to see back to "Original"

No this is not a thread of going back to classic shard status.. so if your thinking of adding that to this forget it. This is about things they CAN change.

Way back a scribe could open up a few spell books in their pack and see the scrolls they dropped on them in the book apear on the pages. I'd like this feature back.
I am so tired of having to reopen the books every bloody time to see what I missed dropping in. While your at it how about adding better colors to the book color palet. I loved the NEON books we were able to get for a while. Maks a back pack so much more nice to look at and is very functional. Perhaps a Tub or a special pack of dyes as a reward?

Secondly have the Rune Books do the same as the spell books. multi book opening and ability to drop runes in was able to be done. I remember this fondly for a time this was something we could do till a Dev decided it was not to be done.... bad move. I for one could not see why it was not left alone, it didnt hurt nothing and made it much simpler to compaire books for correctness. Put it back too. (I for one would love a up/down arrow to move exsisting runes into place)

Third the BOD books need to be able to lock down on a table and access them, I mean be able to drop a bod on it or remove one still locked down! It's a pain in the rump to unlock make sure you are not over loaded to hold it... I mean if you fully fill the book you cant have nada in your pack to hold the darn thing. Ether make the bod ratio 10/1 or make it accessable on the floor or table. It's that simple.

Now Wood and the ability to find it. This is a sticky situation, on one hand the Dev fear of farmers..... on the other the utter uselessness of trying to get the higher up woods then Oak and Ash. I have chopped "EVERYWHERE" you name the facit.... I cant find 1 frostwood to save my life! Bloodwood is so rare I dont use it as I cant get more too easy.
Lets put it this way... I dont want to depend on my stumps for the high woods!
Put it back to set trees for the wood types.
I am so sick and tired of chopping a yew tree (input other type in this spot as they too do this) and mid stream have it change to normal wood! (would love to see a tool like the miners have for trees)

This goes for Ore too!!!!!! Of late I have gone into the mines and went to work only to get 2 to 4 pieces of any color ore and the rest is Iron. What gives?? This is not just Tram or Fel this is happening on but the whole of the shards facits. Now I did support the randomization to stop farmers years ago but.... It's been years and I do mean years sense I have seen any farmers. I'd like to see it reset back or even with a small change. How about if the spot gives say shadow its all that ore, with a long life span again before it changes to a different ore. Like back when mining was worth it. With all the tools we have to up the type it would be nice for a change to be able to recall to a spicific ore type and get it.

How about expanding the BOD reward menu and make it a choice of gift you get? There are tons of things for deco the average Joe or Jane out there would love. Perhaps a gift of mats like (enter # for size of bod turned in) bolts of cloth or leather. I'm not saying ditch the ones we have just add to it and allow a choice in it. Smiths could get same thing in Smithy deco. OR even earn BODS that would get them a special forge.

I love the way you listened and did the "High Seas" fish cooking menu. How about vamping up the rest of the menu and add a few things back .... like people being hungry! I am not asking you to put people on starvation diets but perhaps increase the need by maybe 25%.
Give Cooks a reason to slave over a hot oven or stove.. Perhaps even add some rare dishes recipys from the critters! Good way to toss in the badly needed Blackrock Stew recipy. And make other things craftable for that silly small rock.

Speaking of that small pain in the rump rock.... how about making it a crafting item... add it to some things you make. Give the little bugger a use!

We have a house tool that raises and lowers items.... what about a left and right axis to the tool?? I'd love to be able to make the deco look right, not off center all the time.

How about fixing the bug about putting things near a front door or stairs. I cant get a polar bear run to go in where I use to lay one down! This goes for goza, furnature deed, any addons just wont go in! It is making it very hard to put tables on the front wall, and no its not near the stairs or door! This is very anoying.

Big is better? I'd love to see some smaller choices on some items, this is for the small house owner as well. The fountain is so nice but you need a large house for one, but just reciently at the Easter Egg Run on one shard I saw the mini version of one along with other smaller things. I remember how cute they were! Just the perfect size for the small house owner to have! How about it Dev??? Think you can shrink a few things??

I'd love to rant and rave about going back to house ownership for players. I know you are not hip on that thinking how bad for $$$ bottom line as it is... fact is the country is hard pressed to find a job and keep it. Those $$ that went into entertainment are growing thin.
Thing is, Siege and some shards would have a better spred of players if houseing was back to the old way. 1 house per account was a push by accountants to up the $$ when houseing was at a premium and players were yelling for more area. Now I can walk you around the shards and all you see is huge open land in Malas, Tokuno on most shards has gaps, even on some, city lots are bare! TerMur on a good deal has lots plots and no takers. Tram and Fel while castle and keep spots are rare, most have spots big enough to drive a bus through! I found on a few shards keep spots open! So you know its getting bad. Atlantic has the full shard of old, but for the rest of us.....
If your so worried about $$ I'd give a buck more a month to put it back the way it was.
Tolkens of transfer aside, players would return to their shards more if they didnt have to pick 1 place to call home. It's why the GM's of old sent us around when the shards went down.

How about thinning out Destard to a handfull of Greater Dragons?? I use to love hunting in there but if you got 10 greater dragons all around you it makes it a bit harry to go play there and the regular dragons are few... Speaking of which how about ajusting White Wyrms up a bit (including already tamed ones). I love my WW, and enjoyed taking her to hunt but nowadays there is so little she can be used on. Buff her up please. I miss my Anchient Wyrm... any chance to get them back on the tame list? They are so very close to the Greater Dragon and look cool to boot!

Many quit as they felt crafters were left out..... over the last few patches you have added alot. I'd love to see more added!
Not all things the past Dev did was great for the game... I'd just like to see some reversals and changes to perhaps pull old players back.

If others have ideas for this please add them in! No rants please this is just a kind way to ask for some changes.

Great list.

The only thing I can think of to add is to make metal armor worth wearing again.
It kinda sorta bothers me that leather gives equal or better protection than steel.

This last one isn't a reversal but it would be nice if you only needed 0 lore (as in no lore skill at all) for at least a 50/50 chance to lore a tamed pet (that you own) that doesn't require taming to own, i.e. pack animal, beetle, etc..

Problem with ML & SA has been that the bulk of new crafted items takes ingredients that are on supermonsters. This leaves the typical Crafter player having to pay luna(tic) prices for the ingredients or not make many of *all*new*craftables*in*the*new*expansion!*. Certainly helped drive equipment prices up into the seven and eight digit range.

I think that's a good starter list.
Dungeons... A revamp to these is coming, but thing is, they've already hosed most of them - there USED to be a lot of people in them, not anymore. Since they like spreadsheets so well, maybe we could get a dungeon utilization chart? (wanna bet they have one they won't show us?)
They changed Destard because of a 'certain few' that said it was boring (who still aren't in there), so they went in and ruined it for All. I USED to play there quite a bit as well. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the 'few' have in store for us This time, huh?
And it's not just dungeons, I certainly agree there, I just have no faith anymore that things will get better. (ex. see current event). First land expansion in years, and most characters will probably never see it, what's up w/ that?

I have to agree with you both. I know the ships have the ore and lumber but again how does a crafter kill the npc's to get it?? the main guy on pirate ships are hard to kill, i have watched my son kill a few.

As for the house placement of items in deed form on a "old " house non customizable. I have mistakenly taken down a table on the roof of my tower and couldnt put it back... it messed up my whole roof not being able to put it back. I had to redesign the entire place. Also my castles and keeps have the very same trouble. you cant put a rug or any thing against the outter wall. it tells you your near stairs or front door. Very agravating, I beleave this change had to do with goza mats. The dev went over board to fix this. As usual.

yes Hairy hehe sorry for spelling. My greater can handle 1 maybe two if I am not too slow on the b aids but over that many or add in a drake or wyvern im in deep trouble. I can see maybe 2 or 3 in the whole place per facit of the greaters.

You hit the nail on the head on the crafting bit. Most of the ML stuff no one does anymore on the vast majority of shards and they cost a bloody fortune to buy and even if you can find them the item you make isnt worth the cost of the mats! Its why I asked them to include them in T chests or Mibs.. They are trying to improve the crafters ways but not providing a easy way for the crafter who cant hurt a fly........... well mats cost too much. Only way a poor crafter can do stuff is go get it themselves. Death Robe city!
A reasonable way to get these items a crafters only way would be nice. Perhaps as a reward for bods. (lke 10 of any ingredient for any craft) for a lg bod and smaller amounts for the lesser bods, or a crafter quest where you get a bag of goodies for a repeatable quest chain.

Spoiler warning...................

A crafter can't. At least mine can't. My best non tamer character can kill all but the captain after a long long battle, but the captain self-heals to much to kill. You can't cast summons onto a non scuttled ship so the dps the crewmen inflict on you along with the rate they self-heal makes something with some firepower necessary. I normally use my Tamer with a rune beetle or a dragon and often a bard from a second account on my ship. I'm not looking for a great fight with the merchant, I'm mugging it. :)

**Do not fire a cannon at the merchant ship or it will fire back and tear your ship up which means expensive repairs. Do not cast any area effect spells or several of the target crew will fire back at you. A light cannon gets to moderate damage wear & tear after one ship, after two ships it is greatly damaged. Figure two ships per light cannon, then head for shore to do repairs. Recalling off & on your ship will start the target moving as well.

What I do is take a ship armed with light cannons with my Tamer on it with a spell casting pet along and sail to the area east of Ice Island. There you say Start Tracking and if any ships are in range, it will show arrows pointing at up to five ships (including those on shore as well) for around a minute. Follow an arrow to a ship until it appears on your small map. Note which way it is facing (N/S or E/W) and back away until it is out of sight and a bit farther. Turn your ship the same way the target is facing and then approach the target again. If you turn your ship near the target, it will start moving, so always back away first. A tokuno or gargoyle ship is good, an orc will put up a fight and the loot isn't as good on them. Pirates in this area are very rare. Normally they are all merchant ships and player ships.

Once you are side by side with the target, pull up health bars on all the crew so they are easy to target, then set your pet on them one at a time until all are dead. Occasionally multiple pets will start random attacks and the puppychow gets a bit deep. But usually they obey and you wind up only fighting one crewmember at a time.

When the crew is all dead, start firing a light cannon at the merchant ship. A light cannon takes twice as many shots as a heavy would but uses only 75% of the saltpeter doing the scuttle. The merchant will show the first damage state after half the required shots are fired and the chests on deck will appear. The second damage state means the ship has scuttled and you can board it. You now board the merchant ship and pillage away. :)

sooo...the fix is to just let the tamers and archers do it, and to hell with the crafters?

Oh well, at least it's not as bad as trying to grind your crafter up to 10k loyalty to use the queens forge. (which i just take as further proof that the devs do not, and have never actually PLAYED uo)

I would pay for a video of every designer from Ren onward taken into a small room, and forced to fight mike tyson 1 by 1. (and by fight i mean get the **** beaten out of them) People need to be hit HARD for making design decisions that ********.

I imagine most crafters in Tram have too few skill points left after crafting skills to be too tough. My three can hunt Fire Temple and usually survive, but many things that came after UO:Ren like paragons, peerless and such are out of their league.

My two main crafters I've had from day one are all crafting skills with enough magery to travel with, or hunt with poison, mind blast, or summons with the help of jewelry and mage skill books. The third one on a second account as an additional Alchemist and now Cook is mostly skill storage. Things that have the high hps and dish out the high dps the devs so love since AoS would waste most crafters like a hydrogen bomb would kill a fly. Not quite as bad as the monsters EMs so love, but starting to approach that level.

I shifted Imbuing from my gargoyle to my Alchemist/Scribe/Cook and got the loyalty points hunting toxic slith by the bridge NE of Ter-Mur. Get the sliths attention and lead it over the bridge while casting mind blast at it. I wanted to be able to unravel the pile of loot bags while doing materials to restock my vendors without having to log in the gargoyle just for that. A few million in relic fragments, but it was worth it.

Excellent list. There is so much more that I'm sure you can think of, but this is an excellent beginning.

If there are going to be changes to the "classic dungeons", please bring the Jukas back to Wrong. I can't think of a reason for Lizardmen to be in two dungeons. All of my characters practically grew up in wrong as the the Jukas were perfect fighters for skill gains. Besides, the Juka Lord and I have unfinished business.

Also, make some changes to Ilshenar. There are so few people playing these days that the "safety in numbers" no longer apply. That landmass is so useless now that paragons are around every corner and the normal spawn are so great that it makes no sense no being able to recall in. I only have one other player to go hunting with and, sadly, we can only manage the classic dungeons. We are brave, but Ilshenar leaves a lot to be desired.

I am not sure why the spellbooks and runebooks were changed, but it would be nice to see them back to the old ways again.

UO:Ren was forced by the loss of paying customers who were not having any fun being endlessly PKed. It was do something to stop the loss of customers who were not enjoying paying a monthly fee to just be fun for others, or watch their investment in creating UO go down the toilet. UO:Ren suceeded in saving UO from being closed down because of a lack of players.

The PK targets would have finished leaving, then the PKers would have left because the game was no fun anymore, and the PvPers would likely have been to few to keep enough money coming in to make the game profitable.

Where AoS is concerned, I'd agree with you. Beat the Devs! :) :twak:

In all honesty the changes to ore/wood locations being random actualy premoted MORE people to script it... seeing as its harder/takes ALOT longer to get....

if they did something about scripters farming resources, they could change it back to how it used to be (not random) and it would be fine

Sugar right now I see no farmers out there on most shards.... mining or chopping trees.
Beleave you me I have been all over the shards when I mine and chop!
Now this might not be so on Atlantic.... that shard is way too comercial and over priced to the teeth!~

Boating with a crafter on the seas is not something I want to do~ My son has a method to handle the ships and their crew, with me as a repair tech. Boat is in my hands so he is free to fight to hearts content. I loot the boxes and hold while he beats up the head honcho. Makes for good team work. But not always can I have my son do this, he works for a living and his hours are small when he can play. Lets face it not always is he in the mood to go hunt pirates or merchants. The shifting back to set trees at least and I would hope a 25% adition of high end trees would help.
Beleave me there is not that big a market on the rest of the shards for massive ore or logs. A farmer would go hungry shortly cause the market cant sustain it any more. Yes the population and players working skills is that low.

The first Old Dev and GM's did play UO, it got some in deep trouble for coruption in game activities.... but for the most part they were very good to us. When EA decided to anex us into its fold and liquidate Origin the Successive Dev teams made so many mistakes... like:

When we got Trammel, I watched people go there place houses on open accounts and the slow emptying of Fel began. I saw from occelo bank many drift off to Tram then came the mass exodus. Thiefs and Pks drove them off by the cart load. Instead of giving them limits they added more land and a rule set to this day many dont like. Dont get me wrong I like Trammel, but things were fine in Fel if only they had put a brake on thiefs and limited leash on pks. A few changes to towns was all for the thiefs would have done nicely and perhaps in fokes homes. Pk's got their comupance with the removal of AOE spells working in houses. But did that stop the Dev?? No They got a bug up their nose and decided to mess with things and added alot we didnt need.

Remember that Artist they paid millions to use his artwork... That wasa waste of time and millions for the garbage he made. Bad move by the higher ups and Dev.

Just reverting back to old ways in some things will help alot. If they really want to make the game more friendly think of the lower class characters we dont go running after the big monster. We who are the one hit wonders out there want some consideration. Not all players in this game are Death Robe jockies, I wish they would realize when you make a critter so hard that a normal player cant get squat or is handed his tail is not a happy player. I dont care what the mass on here who are gung ho for death in mass think. There are a good deal of players who would love a crafter way to get the same stuff. It dont need to be easy, I mean you can make it a laundry list of things to do. We would just be happy we dont need to take out life insurance to get a few goodies.

Try making Cooking more fun like the Fish pies. You made things usefull in their making.
Ljs and Carpenters now this pack is nice but you needed more content. Keep up the thinking thou perhaps you can add more later in a future publish that would be free.

Psst .... try not to milk the UO player cow too much... it can backfire on you and Cost you in the long run there Dev. 1 to 2 xpacks well thought out per year is fine. Remeber we still are under a money crisis, if we can keep UO afloat through it and people survive in RL intact its a win win.

That same artist is working on artwork/stories for the next big fantasy franchise that EA is going to publish, that could even lead to EA's next big fantasy MMO if the solo game does well.

They know exactly what they're doing. The key word in your sentence was Player (singular). I think people keep forgetting the Dev's said they will, and are, forcing a play-style. If you can't kill something, even if it takes a long time, Get a Group, Get that Player Interaction in gear. Tell me HS isn't designed for a group, nor the long awaited newly opened land mass FAILure, finale for Bane, power scrolls etc etc. The longer they go, the easier it is see, least for me, and I'm partially 'tarded now from the stroke. They got to be crazy to hire him again! He was quoted as for saying EA was a sucker for paying him so much for his artwork back then in a trade mag on the UO project. Not long ago ether.

Oh and I thought of a few more things the Dev can do.

Return the trees to Fel. Now I know you can do it from your own comp for your esthetic position but here is the rub in that. While you might be hidden on your comp by leaves and nice foliage the rest see bare trunks and your not so hidden. You have to admit it is tough to train stealth if you cant hide in a grove of trees cause there is no leaves!

Oh and while your at it on the Fel side, Remove 90% of those bloody Grave Stones. I can see a few, but the war is over kiddos.

With seeing how nice you cleaned up Magnicia and did some sculpting of the land there got an idea for you on a few places. You got to admit with the population down many shards have huge clearings but stopping placement is a lone tree in the middle of no where just 1 tile shy of a keep or castle. How about a walk through for a little fun on the dev side and demo a few problem areas. Flatten a few bumps, do tree removal in others, You dont need to tell players you did it. Make it a self discovery!

Speaking of Housing.... all that wasted space in Malas on the low end shards, open it up to Keeps and Castles, To kick it off, you can even do a plot thing like in Magnicia on prime locations! You removed mega millions just think what a bunch of keeps and castles would go for in the bidding war... Talk about a gold sink! You can even open up non houseing land for it too.

Now for Ilshenar, open it up to magic. I mean its so dumb to not be able to recall in and out of most of it. I am not saying mind you the dungeon and champ places. They I can understand a small barrier of no recall in on them, but guys.... its a long treck to drag people to a t hunt. No one and I mean no one likes to walk. Gates will still be used.. oh and how about a healer for the place. Sprinkle a few around perhaps, those paragons that are building up are murder and a poor crafter who is surprised has to walk the whole way to a gate to get rezed, by the time they can hoof it to the gate and back their body and any pet body is long gone.... you have one angry player. So to open it up to a more used atmosphere the magic and healers is the ticket.

I know "Spring cleanup" is around the bend but I was thinking for something more permanent that players could do with the extras they cant use for decoration or sale. How about a quest hunt for a laundry list of items. Let me give you an example of a typical list:

1.) 5 skinned goats, 10 stretched hides, 20 skull candles, 10 dirty plates (can be food kind too), 5 rusted pans(pots too)

2.) 10 stacked books (any facing), 5 egg cases, 10 bloody spoons, 10 minataur kettles, 20 baubles( the fairy ones)

This list could be anything from common to artifacts, on a point system exactly like the first clean up. The best part is the gifts could be chosen from a list like the spring cleaning one. The build up of junk in houses would be diminished of left overs and you wouldnt be called on to do another spring celan up for a few.

Well this is just things I would like to see.

Hun I for one you know do understand your point.

There will always be that single player out there not willing to group up. Some are stuborn others are well to say hard to get along with others, then you got those on their short time they have to play when the place is dead. You cant pegionhole everyone into a group. The more you make them do it the less they want to do it. Smaller population shards the time factor for players who can group is small. I'm finding alot of players are not kids anymore, most are over 25 these days and they work. Now the Dev do a 9 to 5 but the vast amount of players work around the clock and weekends too so there is not alot of congruity in the time they have for fun.

Can NOT place multi-tiled objects on the front or near the front.... Of Keeps, Castles, and even along either the East or Western side of a house either... I find this silly and extremely irritating. I see no reason why I can't put stuff like a water trough, the elven sofa, Gargish sofa or even now the new rustic bench along the first row of tiles at my house... It is NOT blocking my stairs. I think I know when I'm blocking my stairs... Oh and the second and third floor of a house front is NOT the entrance... It is also NOT the entrance in the BACK of my Castle or Keep either... but downstairs in the back of my keep it tells me ... You can not place a multi-tiled object at the entrance... REALLY????? I've never entered my Keep from inside the empty areas....

Oh and another thing that needs to be fixed... the cute little mouse hole... whenever I try to place it against a wall it tells me I can't place that there... If I get it to place against a wall it actually ends up 1 tile in FRONT of the wall.... Now why would there be a mousehole in the middle of my floor????? I've tried again and again and again to get it to place but it will NOT.... I've tried to place it at my castle under one of the two front arrowholes..... but It won't place there... I tried to put it in my keep in the same area..... will not place.... says i can't put it at the entrance.... I tried to put it all over in the castle and or keep but it won't go anywhere but the middle of the room..... seems stupid in my opinion.... gee I sure am glad I wasted all those points on an item that won't place anywhere logical.

Ore is fine as it is. Sure you do need the BOD rewards to maximize your results (thus giving them.... VALUE), but at least you can bump veins and more easily find the ones you need.

Wood, however, needs to have its distribution loosened up as well as given the same effective upgrade tools as mining (a prospector's tool to bump safely and a "gargoyle axe" to add one more level at a risk).

The whole idea is that the higher end materials are SUPPOSED to be more rare than the lower end. That whole concept flies out the window if you can simply load up a runebook with marked spots and get whatever resource you want any time you want.

Ore is fine, wood is ridiculous though.

I don't mind the randomization of ore and lumber. It gives everyone a fair shot at getting the rarer woods and metals, instead of having the spots where they spawn monopolized by scripters. Could they make the rarer stuff a little more common? Sure. But please keep the randomization.

As far as allowing multiple houses per account, I don't like that idea at all. I'd rather see empty spots on shards than have them full of castles and keeps that someone with a lot of gold purchased and then lets sit unused for months and years at a time. I honestly think the sight of so much space tied up by so few players turns off more new and returning players than seeing empty areas of land.

If anything, give every house the same storage amount as a castle and add more security options so it's easier for friends/guilds to share housing. Or create a way to rent a small amount of additional storage space (maybe 500 or 1000 items) at an inn. And plunk down just a few more public soul forges. Make the game more accessible to players just coming back or just starting out rather than catering to people who have more gold than they know what to do with and really just want another status symbol to rub in everyone else's faces.

If the devs really do think it's a good idea to let people place castles and keeps in facets where they never could before, then require the buildings to always be public so perhaps most of the new ones would be used for "community-minded" purposes.

This is a very light-hearted response to original post, but I would love to see the "glowing" leather caps back. A looonng time ago, there were special leather caps (no idea what made them so), that would...glow...in the paper doll display. I wish I would have taken screen shots, as they have long ago been "fixed". My crafter, to this day, still holds on to 2-3 of those caps in his bank box, should a revert ever "un-fix" this, and the afro comes back!

Timber is almost fine as it is. I would maybe give the chance to find frostwood and amber a little boost. It's nice to have a resource that is actually rare to find.
Most Frostwood now though, stumps aside, seems to come from either scripter's reserves or from idocs.
Heartwood and Bloodwood spawns are fine as is.

All lumberjacks reading this are welcome to stop by the Woodcutter's Rest on Drachenfels (Skara , Fel) and chill out with your fellow professionals.

I still have 1 of those. With the assorted thigh boots and half apron. If i remember correctly, they came from npcs in cove. I and some others use to call them ¨orange¨items .

the afro still half-works, put it on, then remove it but hold it close to your head.

WOW! It does work! Thank you so much for the heads up. Alas, it really does only work if you are holding the cap, and the afro goes away once the mouse button is depressed.

Honestly Hen the high end logs of frostwood is almost nonexsistant that I have the 3 stumps make it cause its not out there, I rarely find bloodwood, and the heartwood is scarse. Though I have been able to locate reciently a few yew trees which quickly changed to plain lumber. Amber?? heck I havent seen a piece in almost a year and I chop the forests of UO alot!
I once asked for a tool like the miners have geared for wood. Perhaps the Dev can look into it for a new Bod item reward.

The Mining complaint is of late I go in any mine and get 2 maybe 3 of the colored ore and get 16 to 22 iron ore. I am not sure if its a bug for some areas or not. There are a few mines I go in and get nothing but the colored ore and 1 piece of iron but this is rare and changes quickly.

Tina on quite a few of the shards almost 3/4 the houseing that is left is 18 x18's, keeps and castles so I dont know what your complaining about. The big exception to this is Atlantic, and they are not imune to loosing players as we all are. I can tell you this much, Players returning to the game are trickleing in. I even met a few "new" to the game who joined UO from a look throught EA's game list!
To be quite frank about this Tina, the Dev do need to address the houseing, Many wouldnt want a castle or keep if they all had the same lockdowns. Perhaps if the lockdowns were cap'ed at say 10k per house no matter what size, Right now a Castle with 160% is only a few k off that number so its not a big gain for them but enough to allow them the feeling they not left out of the storage gain. And I did say it was the final Cap of Storage.
Short of that happening....
90% of Malas on quite a few shards is barren of homes!
If Dev was smart they would place castles and keeps on plots of this open land put the bidding stone up and see the gold sinks at work! Heck on Atlantic castles are going for Billions... thats a B for billions!
So, with that said alot of other shards the Malas areas are open fields why not make a gold sink out of it. Remember this also might bring more back to the game if they opened it up after the inital "bid war" of those to placement as well. We are never going to get back the numbers to UO we had. (unless every other game out there died, and that will happen when pigs fly)
It might even garner a few more new accounts to open for that placement.
It's an idea ......
