The Trees

The trees are going back and forth from leafy to bare. Is this something they are doing for Halloweeen or is it just me? Just wondering -Thanks.

it has been doing that for as long as i have played... since like 03

I live in fel and half the time when i'm in tram the tram trees turn into fel trees

I did go into Fel. tonight - might be why. It was the second time I've been back there since Trammel opened and I won't be going back. I finally worked up the courage to go and try the Brit fields. I was fighting some pumpkins and crossed the line to cast EV on them. I thought if I saw a red, I could cross over and call the guards if need be. Well, a Blue came and started casting. Since he was blue, I thought he was after the pumpkins. I died, thinking it was the pumpkins. I rezed and went back - all pumpkins gone and the guy killed me again. I actually asked him why would he kill me and talked to him about that. He did take all my stuff, but later he found me and apologized and gave me my stuff back. That was nice of him but it reminded why I never go to Fel.

well, on EC there is the exact opposite problem... tram and fel have all the trees with foliage without difference

With the EC I have foliage turned OFF so its Fel forever!

Not sure why turning desolation off would affect trammel...

It's a cache thing.. flush your cache and it will reload.

Before they made that trammel the land was one wonderful place with

LEAVES ON THE TREES.
So they make trammel and opt to make the orig. lands a place called felucca and made all the trees go barenaked ugly !
BLEH UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGLY !! Some folks do not even go there not due to pks but NAKED BUTTUGLY LEAFELESS TREES !!

Tis no sane reason on earth or in UO land
why them trees fel side had to
go naked, originally they were full of leaves !!
Only would make sense for trees to be naked or dead ugly is if they in Umbra where it is supposed to look sorta dead, black and menacingish.

Isn't the weirdo music we get stuck with enough, to tell us we in felucca ?

And I get tired of being told 'ima gonna go to felucca'...warning warning
when I am on Siege. hellooooo is no trammel there, anyhow. LOL

it's a silly longstanding buggy thing that sometimes hits a chr.
when they zip facets and the naked trees will poof up in trammel
out of the clear blue after ya been fel side.
Next time try Ocllo gardens though, less traffic, no guarentees tho. rolleyes:

I got one chr. on Siege even, whom seems nearly perma bugged.
Only cure I found was letting someone kill her, and even when I TRY to get pkd there lately nada !! BLEH and yeh I clear cache and she still is bugged. Seems utterly silly to see nakey trees in Zento on any shards.

* I PROTEST against nakey leafless trees* and I should not have to go tweakin old UO files to get ...the ORIGINAL land mass's trees to have leaves like they once had before they went and made a TRAMMEL and ruined the forests trees in *original land masses* !!

I have very few rants longstanding regarding UO,
messing up orig land mass after makin a trammel or Blackthorn becoming damned whatevers,
it is one of me longstanding RANTS bout dorky changes that shoulda been left out of messin MY UO where trees had leaves on em, EVERYWHERE.

I stepped right outside of it but stayed close. I don't think you can even cast EV in a guard zone. You can't in Trammel; I thought Fel. was the same for that.

It seems to have cleared up, but how do you do that it if it should happen again?

You can set your cache size to zero, close client. Start client..
then reset it to your preferred setting.. close client.. start client.

BUT.. there is an easier way.. UO now has spots that trigger an automatic cache flush because of the memory leak. Recall to Brit.. walk slowly south through the arches and down the stairs heading towards West Brit Bank.. as you pass the jewelers your cache will flush.

So do I, but my point was I can't stand playing with the post-ren "changes" they made to my home, that line fixes it, at least somewhat (no ugly naked trees)

Also, the whole "trammel"/"felluca"thing makes even less sense than you think...those names are the names of the two moons of sorsaria...so one would gather from the naming that what happened was we all picked up and left the main landmass and moved to the moon....

He is right you know.. Trammel and Felluca are the names of the Sosarian moons..
Back in the old days you had to know the phases the moons were in to use moongates.
That's why they are called "Moongates"

I think it was sheer laziness on the devs part to use these names for the facets.
