So as you can see from my other post im just coming back to the game and trying to decide what i want to work on. I will be working on my old bard and turning her into a pure 4x legendary bard (eventually).

While reading about the masteries and stuff I wondered if you could do something like the following:

Musicianship
Provocation
bushido
parrying
weapon skill of choice
tactics

With the intent of running the provocation masteries...
I dont really know yet much about mana regen in UO so am not sure if the idea of permarunning them is just not viable or what.

Anyways, just an idea i had and i liked the singing samurai name lol.

i run kinda similar tactic on my disco archers.

120 disco
120 music
100 archery (120 with hunters headdress)
100 tactics (up with ring or watch)
70 chiv
110 med
100 Bushido (115 with ring/watch)

but like i mentioned i use the disco.
i can use the disco bard masteries if i needed, but i find that disco then shoot works good enough for me.
spam some lightning strikes and specials.

reason i dont use provo is cause as soon as you hit the critter that will break disco off of them, and also the bard mastery doesn't help me cause it dosnt push you past the cap.
so if your suited up and using enemy of one then your probably already over the cap for DI and HCI.

one must hold a degree in applied and pure mathematics just to play UO now a days.

i am returner to UO and made a pause since end of 2006. I dont remember that disco went away if you hit a mob ? If a tamer pet hits a discoed mob, disco stays or did i understand that wrong ?

And what do you mean with bard mastery doesnt help you push past the cap ?

the provo mastery inspire will buff up your HCI and DI and SDI.

if your allready at the cap for those it will not push you over the cap.

(45 for HCI and 100 for DI in fel and 300 for DI in tram (pvp and pvm respectivlly)

the DI cap is easy to hit.
Enemy of One adds 100
slayer adds 100
then what you have on your weapon and ring and watch and gloves (and helmet depending on which helmet)

so most people are already at the cap, so inspire wont push you over the cap.

Following up with a question. Poo do you know if the cap on HPI is capped at 25(items) and stays this way for Invigorate or does this allow you an extra 20 hp. Same time will it allow for extra str(etc) above the cap of 150?

Not sure on that.
But I'm pretty sure that 150 is now a hard cap so you won't be able to push past that reguardless.
I know the numbers will go past, but u won't see the benefit of it if I'm not mistaken.

The Cap on HP is higher though (i think its 200) so it is quite rare for someone not to get the bonus from invigorate.
i think most melee guys already run 150 dex on their toons.
of if their not they should be.

so if your already at the 150 cap for dex then the spell wouldn't benefit you any, course the HPI would, but dex wise it wouldn't.

150 str cap
25 hpi cap


HP = (str/2) + 50 + hpi
= (150/2) + 50 + 25
= 75 + 50 +25
= 150

If the devs think we have a 200+ hp cap, its little wonder we have megauber monsters...

The stat cap for STR/INT/DEX is 150

The MAX Hp you can get from strength is STR/2 + 50 = 125

That 150 is not applicable to HP/Mana or Stamina.



Out of boredom i just took one of my characters on ATL and swapped out everyhting on his suit for HP increase items and drank a strength pot and switched into wolf form and ran invigorate.
He now has 192 HP.
As to whether or not I can go past it, dont feel like digging through code to find the constants.

-Found some more HP increase items and they seem to be capping out at 193 HP so I guess the 25 HP cap from items is still in effect.

So with Invigorate I get to 173 HP with a Provo/Peace Bard @ 120s.

If I add discord on there I can get few more hp out of invigorate.
