theres a way around everything in this game. This includes dungeon access and how to gain the necessary loyalty on your crafter.

because you seem a bit flustered already, here's the walk-thru for the easier quest for Abyss access
Thanks for the link, but even that seems excessive. So Naxatilor says I'm part of the abyss club but then I need to go on another quest to read some books as well? I'm just getting tired in my old UO age of the hoops I guess.
any tips for faster loyalty rating ?
Is a link to the quest to access Abyss. it take 3 min to complete the quest. As for the loyalty point, you need to kill stuff or do quest. It is easy now to rebuild to help you fight.

pretty much the fastest way to gain loyalty is to kill toxic sliths in one of there high spawn areas

I'd be willing to bet from the word recall you can't get it done in 10 seconds. The point is why all the meaningless quests. Don't you feel like a trained helper monkey?

Yep... I agree the quest is downright meaningless. I don't mind that my crafters and miner have to take the same quest, and I don't mind the time it takes to do the quest. What I do mind is that the quests make no sense in terms of UO lore. One of the worst quest in this sense is the Human-to-Elf quest. Where's the story line and how does it fit into UO lore?
I think EA should hold a player contest to come up with a story line and lore whenever a new quest is needed. I've seen some very well written stories about UO right on these forums.

It looks like the fastest way in is to make a new character as a gargoyle. The quests make no sense really. $29 should open the area for play. And my crafter can get his butt kicked by mongbat! (but so far I have seen no reason to upgrade. There is still so much to explore in Tram/Tokuno/Ilsh).

I was one of the first three or four players to place a house in Ter Mur on Great Lakes after SA went live, after I had used my mage character to kill sliths near the volcano.
I did think it was a little strange that players that mainly use a crafter, would have to fight things to gain loyalty quickly for use of the Queen's Soul Forge though.
Just one of those strange "erm... why?" type questions. I saw a lot of skills being swapped on soul stones by players, that's for sure.
On the soulforge thing they should make it that human/elf can use the town forge and get a small bonus, but only gargoyles can get access to the queens soul forge. It sounds a little racist but hey it's a stretch already that humans, gargoles and elves get along at all.
Silent dear the idea is to get people active in UO. We are done handing things out and free rides. A little work on your part is all that is required. Its not a big deal to ask for help in what to do, you will find as you have been shown there is easy ways. DevilsOwn was gracious to give you the link, Thank you DevilsOwn for that. Was kind of you.
My Lady with all due respect having played this game from the beginning I've done my share of "work" in this GAME. I'd just like to log in and have some fun.
Actually, it does take ten seconds, and maybe if you stopped whining and did it you'd see it. This game has always had quests, tedious or not. It's how it's always rolled, and it makes sense that you'd have to do something to learn the secret of how to get to the abyss and all that. You don't just instantly gain access to everything, ever.
Ok, i am really confused here on the Queen's Soulforge. I my crafter char is elf and has done maybe 1 quest and killed 0 monsters on him. I use the Queen's soulforge all the time. Yes, he does have access to the abyss.
With this being said my main char on that acct is loyal to Queen he kill stuff for her all the time.
Can you use forge without loyalty or am i missing something?

I agree... I hate doing the quests even if it only takes a few minutes. What really ticks me off is when I miss one of the questions and I have to wait to do the test again. I guess that is why I only have access on my main character and none others.I bought the upgrade to SA and find I need to jump through quest hoops to get access to the dungeon? Not to mention my crafter needs to kill things to get access to the queens soul forge? He's a lover not a fighter.
Some of us agree silent, but you're going to lose this argument with that one....just let it go.
go in through the Fellucia Hythloth entrance. Its the abyssal demon champ spawn area. Don't need to be on a quest and you can access the dungeon. Hunt all you want then leave through the underworld side... (I don't think you'll be able to use the moongate at the back of the dungeon)

My guild mates seems to enjoy this quest there first time running threw it.
If you stop looking at it as work, and something you dont wanna do.
Its actually very original for uo, and fun.
Not running this quest only keeps you from gaining access to the abyss dungeon and doesnt prevent you from going to ter mur or using a soulforge.
And has nothing to do with gaining use of the queens soulforge.

Now since you are entering from the tomb of kings you will need to start at the bottom and read up, as you cross the abyss itself. But it will give you a good idea of the encounters. You should, if going for the ten k in loyalty, stay above ground and, as advised, kill toxic sliths.

"ORD" at the brazier on the left, "AN ORD" at the brazier on the right. If you just do the left one, you can run through the fire fields but can't get back through. If you do both braziers, that takes the fire fields down for a short while. I usually just do the left brazier and run through taking one or two points of damage.
If you played on Napa one of the winners of the Ter Mur houses have set up a teleporter from Luna into thier public house inside the dungeon, class act.
For crafters, let me offer this suggestion for loyalty. Ruddy Bouras require 0 taming and lore to control. If you can find a kindly tamer to tame you one or two, your crafters can kill many creatures around Ter Mur to boost your loyalty. With the SA upgrade, you now have a minimum of four stable slots, so you can stable the boura when you need to turn back to your beetle or fire beetle.
