The person chucking fabled nets not getting an artifact?

I recently held a net toss and chucked 15 fabled nets on one character. The person tossing the nets should get a 25% chance at an artifact right? Well I didn't get 1!

Chucking 15 nets and getting no artifacts seems to be outside a random range. Is this feature not working?

I was wearing 0 luck however this shouldn't matter.

I could be wrong but I thought you had to be GM to get that 25% when tossing fabled nets.

Very bad luck, but not impossible even if everything is working normally.

I had no fishing on that character, I would hope that wouldn't matter, But at 1.34% it must do.

hmm ... I didn't even realize you could throw the net without any skill (I've never done a white net throw with less than GM fishing ... come to think of it, I've not done any white net throws in a long time now ... I've been kinda stuck in a limbo between templates for a couple of years).

UO RNG + Gambler's Fallacy, that's how it happens.

UO RNG is NOT guaranteed to work within the "accepted averages" by any stretch of the imagination.

Gambler's Fallcy reminds that the odds of toss X+1 are no different than the odds of toss X. Each one has a separate chance of spawning an artifact and in theory can lead to tossing hundreds of nets with no artifact.

u can throw a net with 0 skill, but u need to have gm fishing to get the 25% chance for marty when tossing fabled fishing nets

You're best off going with a group and everyone wearing lots of luck, it works like a paragon where luck influences the drop and everyone gets a shot at it. Then the person who throws it if they are a GM fisherman gets a separate 25% chance at a drop when the leviathan dies.

From what research I have done there are 2 seperate rolls when you toss a white net. The first is based on your fishing skill, as people have pointed out 25% at gm fishing, I am not sure if you get any bonus for even 99.9 skill. You get a second seperate roll when the Leviathan dies that is based on your luck, I have never heard of anyone getting 2 artifacts but apparently there are 2 rolls. Perhaps winning the first roll negates the second. Even if you have 0 fishing, not getting an artifact out of 15 "paragons" that have such a fame level is very unlucky.

Thanks Sarsmi...this is the first time I've read anywhere that luck influences net tossing or anything else to do with fishing.
