Turd, you're arguing a whole different point. First of all, against 60 fire (cursed) an explosion fs eo from a scribe necro mage (my current build) will do approximately 80 damage. More if that person isn't corpse proof.
Ok, yes 80 is alot of damage. And you have no arguments from me that EO should have its casting time increased. However, explosion has a (correct me if I'm wrong here) 2.5 second cast delay and flamestrike has a 3 second cast delay. With EO thrown in, that's 6 seconds it takes for the mage to do that much damage. That means the mage cannot take 1 point of damage in 6 seconds. That is also a character meant to pump out the most spell damage possible, with the most powerful spell combo around.
Now, I believe one of the main arguments against the GD is that there seems to be no defense to it. It's all RNG. You can't disrupt a dragon, and after its initial teleport after the all-kill command, you'd be hard pressed to get too far from one before it can pump out a much larger amount of damage than 80. This is assuming of course, you had been dismounted.
And, I'm sorry, but evasion and "oh just run away" are not acceptable counters to an offense. And evasion is only a counter to bad pvp tamers that you can drop in several swings anyway (by your own admission). All other "high damage" builds now have at least some acceptable counter measure. A mage can dish out lots of damage, but mages can be interrupted very easily. Archers can also pump out massive amounts of damage. But the heaviest hitting bows won't swing any faster than 2s and archers can be disarmed.
It's not too hard to seperate a tamer from their pet, unless they're really good at the template
I don't mean to be insulting, but you seem to be basing your argument on the fact that there are many people who do not play a tamer template well. Noted. But what about those who DO play the template well? Nobody on these forums can make a compelling argument for having greater dragons in pvp. I dare someone to make one.
