I haven´t read up much about it but you pick a side to fight with. Either Bane or Ophidians.
You build up points while doing so. After each fight, if you have over 1000 loyalty points, you get a bag from the war chest much like the SA house quest.
In each camp there´s also a quest you can take.
That´s pretty much all I know atm...

i'd avoid changing sides too, i think i'm sitting at -771/-1039. got everything attacking me now(even hugi, no tele ring?). 
doing the quest for fighting with the ophidians gets you some lame pots.
doing the quest for fighting with the bane gets you a blackrock stew or something, its needed to bond the bane dragons.
i think you need atleast 2000 loyalty to do the quests, but i'm not sure. also need crystalline blackrock for the quest.

Oh yes this saga is just so grippin, I am just not sure what side to choose Jacob or Edward.
All I am really interested in is killing other players. I could give a crap about choosin sides, or killing monsters. Where is the challenge in killing monsters? It's boring and easy. I hate to say but killing y'all is becoming easier than killing the monsters in this game.
