I'm curious as to exactly how items are "named". Things like the "Animated Bracelet of Sorcery" or "Arcane Ring of Haste", etc... It seems to me that items are often named for properties that are not the most powerful. See the pic below:

When items are generated they have like a 50% chance beyond the first to generate a random property. So its easily possible that on a named item half or less of the properties are of that name.

Animated: Dex, Stamina, SSI Sorcery: Int, Mana Increase
2. Arcane Ring of Haste:
Arcane: Mana Regen, FC, FCR, LRC Haste: Dex, Stam
Based on those two examples, the distribution is working as it should weighting the mods to the prefix compared to the suffix. As the items are rolled, if they roll affix names, they add in mods based on the affix name rolled. Obviously it's better to get an Arcane ring of Sorcery and an Animated ring of Haste, those are put off each other because they are two separated mod sets which makes them look a bit odd. There is also the matter of the "mod budget" that is rolled which tells the item how many mods can be on the item and at what intensities, if there are negative mods that add to the budget or not, etc.
Are you saying the items get their names first and then properties assigned to the 2 names? I'm not disagreeing with you, but how do you know that this is how it is done?
