The IF airstrip

I'm pretty sure I read on the WoW forum that Blizzard blocked off access to the Airstrip you see when you fly from IF to Menithil. However, a week or so ago, as I was flying over it, I saw a Horde down there killing off the guards. Anyone have a clue how how he might have gotten in there?

I've always wanted to go check it out, even though I know there really isn't anything there.

Be prepared for a ban-hammer if you get caught up there. It's not supposed to be accessable to players.

Well damn! I really wish they would open it up, there is even a flightpath there.

Then what's the point of having the place? Surely you should be able to explore anywhere in WoW. If it was just a desolate lump of featureless land to fill in a hole on the map that's one thing, but to go to all that trouble just seems silly to me.

ALso, as your flying over the lands from Iron Forge into Stormwinds forests, you can see a camp and river area above the Northshire waterfalls. Looks fun, but no way to get there.

Several places like that, one above the wetlands too, and one in Desolace only viewable by air.

I saw that area and for the first time a week ago I managed to mouse over and there is actually a "Gryphon Master" there with the gryphons. There's a flight patht htere...maybe its something to be opened in the future?

You CAN get there, if you know how. It is not wise to go there, as if found, the GMs WILL port you out and probably put a black mark on your record.

Yes there is a Gryphon Master there, but no Gryphons.

There's also an underground city in Iron Forge that is not accessible - I got there once actually with my hunter, but not sure if it's "legal" to go there or not so I won't mention how I did it.

I just flew past there today and there are gryphons on perches there.....

Thanks for correcting me...upon further review, you are correct...just that the Gryphon Master isn't an actual flightpath.
