[General] The "Good Enough" suit

I'm looking to build a suit for my plain warrior. Unfortunately I'm a newish player(played on a different account 8 years ago) so that means I'm fairly poor. Even though my warrior has most of his skills at GM(don't have any PS yet) he still has trouble in level 1 Shame. So I think it's his equipment.

I would like to build a suit of:
- No arties (can't afford them)
- all 70's resists
- 45 DCI/HCI
- 40 LMC
- Maybe some stat bonuses, attribute increases and regens

Now the plan for doing this was of course the craft/reforge/POF/imbue/enhance method. I was planning on doing the reforging for the properties that required the most expensive ingredients.
- Shield - 15 DCI
- Weapon - 15 HCI
- Armor - 5 pieces with 8 LMC, not sure what to do with the other one

For the Ring/Brac would have a base of 15 HCI and 15 DCI (already found a 1 property ring of 15 DCI)

Do you think I can't do this for fairly cheap? What else can I put in there for not much money.

Do you have an easier time farming low level runics from bods, or farming relic frags? Farming the essences for HCI, LMC, and DCI is pretty easy for warriors as long as you take your time and don't try to rush through it. For the essence of singularity make sure you use a spell channeling weapon.

I would leave your head slot unassigned. I'd then reforge 5 HCI on three armor pieces and 5 DCI on the other two pieces. After imbuing 15 HCI / 15 DCI on ring and bracelet you'll be at 45HCI / 40DCI. For the last 5 DCI you would have a lot of options (quiver of infinity, spell focusing sash, sash of corgul, slither, conjurer's garb). The cheapest would probably be to reforge 5 DCI on your helm, but be aware you may want to replace that with mace & shield down the line. Imbue 8 LMC on your 5 non-headpiece armor. From there you can determine which resists need to be imbued and calculate how much room for stats you have.

Thanks for your ideas. This is still just in the planning stage, my Imbuer is only at 70 at the moment, but I figure by the time I get him high enough I should have everything figured out.

For a human or elf, remember that a circlet is probably your best choice for headgear, if you're going to imbue it. It's not ugly, it's metal (and can be enhanced with metal), and it allows meditation. Later on, you can choose whether to stay with the circlet, or work on one of the library collections for glasses.

Provided you farm the ingredients yourself, you could make a pretty sweet suit for next to nothing.

don't forget to reforge your shield with 5 hci and 25 di (then you can imbue 15 dci on it)

you needn't imbue 8 LMC per item
much cheaper is to imbue 6 items with 6-7 LMC
pof armor to 150 (needn't 255 dur since you'll replace it soon)


when you get Mace&Shield helm you will need new suit deu to resists factor

Driven - I'm on Baja. And yes I'm planning on farming most of the ingredients myself.

Corwin - Thanks for the idea for the DI on the shield. Other than the 15 DCI there just isn't alot of stuff I would want to add to a shield, maybe 2 HP regen.

To get both HCI and DI I would use a Copper Runic and do Powerful Reforging with Vicious of/ Slaughter correct? Or could I get away with just using a Shadow Runic? It appears I might be able to do it with the Shadow from that great thread you started and from Semmerset's charts.
