Here's the scoop. This tournament is for NEW characters only, you must be in the guild and meet the following requirements:

-Maximum of 80 in skill
-GM Armor/weaps/items/spell books only - NO ADDITIONAL MODS. This means no spell channel items etc.
-No Pre-poisoned weapons
-No pets
-No Hiding
-No potions
-No disarm
-Casting will not exceed 2/4

More rules may follow. I'd really like to keep this to help some of the NEW members, I'm sure someone will try to be an ass and make a char, but we'll hope bringing/helping new players outshines greed. I'd like to have at least 16 participants and this will be done in an elimination type setting. And now for what I'm sure all the NEW members care about....

PRIZES!!
First prize- 750k Check
Second price - 500k Check
Third Price - 250k Check
And the remaining 500k will be tossed into the goody bags I spoke of, this way everyone will receive an even better prize just for entering, such as: 100k, a scrappers compendium, etc!

That is not all however, I will be giving each contestant something even if they lose, which could be a 100% LRC suit, 1-2k of each reg, a copper/bronze hammer, a 50k check, etc etc. Everyone will receive something. I will have to have this during a week day, and will be aiming for Friday around 5PM CST at a location I'm not yet sure of. If any of you would like to donate any items, that is fine, but please give them directly to the players so I don't get accused of foul play etc. I will supply the characters with the GM equipment if need be.

Just kidding, sounds like a good idea hopefully you get a decent turn out and the new players have fun.

While I fully support the idea, the problem is that there just aren't the people in NEW at present to make it viable.

I think there are around thirteen non-leaders who have logged in this past week, and discounting those who have skills above 80, those we just don't read the boards, and those who will not be able to make it anyway, I think you will be lucky to get four to come let alone sixteen.

I would suggest holding off on this until after the ROT changes have come in. Then it may be worth posting on UHALL with it in order to encourage people to try out Siege and NEW.
