I'll have to get a new avatar, mine's kinda pixeled now (too big i think).
I have animations turned off on my box here, do animated gif's still work?

I had withdrawl symptoms, especially when I tried to log in and it told me my user name was being used. lol Glad I got that part to work so far at least.

Little by little I am figuring this all out, though.

I'm sure Syrus is on top of this, but it looks like the minimum spacing for each post is based on the Avatar size of 96px - 96px size, contained in the messageUserInfo box, and a 10px padding and 124px width.

The element .messageContent also has a minimum height of 100px, leaving several empty lines under short postings. There is also a LOT of wasted space over (10px) and under (30px) each post used for padding. If you manually change the CSS to change these elements, you can collapse the messages to a minimum size, turn the Avatar pictures on/off or change size... so, someone should be able to create alternate Xenforo CSS styles to clean this up quite a bit.
