TC3 jobs not working at all

Sorry if there's already a thread about this, mods, I came back to over 200 new posts in the various threads so I might have missed this already been said but if it hasn't been it needs to be.....

People that are in TC3 now that are able to get past being stuck at 35% say that they cannot enter job lots. At first I thought it might be just free accounts, that maybe they were testing a patch to prevent free members from going to jobs in EA Land, BUT paid accounts can't go to work either, so that can't be it. I'm spreading the dev bug e-mail but I thought I'd start a discussion here on it too...I hope they get it fixed soon, I've got a crafting contract to work on and only got 50% down so I need the sim jobs to make the other portion before I get paid. I can work jams and stuff, but man I hate dealing with all the waaaah-waaahs there LOL.

Just wanted to give a heads up to anybody that tries to go to work and can't, its not just you!

Alot of us are talking about this on TC3, but I assume the Devs are aware of the problem. hopefully it will be dealt with soon

Nope they don't work there either.

It's not a terrible thing, but the most prevailing complaint I hear is that if the jobs are down they wish the carpool wouldn't kidnap sims while they are down. If you're hosting and not watching every second you can dump a house that way, which is bad enough if you can work the shift and make some money in the process, but blows now since you get kidnapped for naught anyway. The only solution (I think?) would be for roomies/owners to temporarily quit their jobs, but the penality for that losing the rounds toward the next promo that you've accumulated, so I thought I'd ask if the devs can just turn the feature off totally till the bug is fixed so that we'd at least KNOW when the carpool showed up again that the jobs were back on track?

Disclaimer <font color="red">NOT </font> a complaint or a whine, just a request.....if the answer is no, not possible then that's OK too, just relaying in-game concerns from players

Sorta OT but good news re: Making money while we're waiting on jobs to be reactivated. Hubby decided to take a crack at learning to lead pizza with a team of our own sims, where he had all 4 windows going. Pizza payouts had been reputed to be very low, including sim bonus, but here were our findings

This was in TC3, for starters. 4 sims, with 15, 15, 12 and 13 for a grand total of 55 out of a total 80 possible points. Large supreme tonight gave him 52 simoleans including the skill bonus of 4 simoleans per sim. I did not ask him to keep track of the other pizza payouts, but the skill bonus and the topmost payout I thought were very interesting. I understand the payouts are dynamic and I'm not trying to say anybody else was reporting false facts, but it seems at least for *now* that pizza might not be so bad, and there is always maze and code also if you don't feel comfortable juggling 4 accounts. My personal preference is code, the money is even better there.

Just something to think about to offset the hits we are all taken by the absence of being able to go to our sim jobs. Granted he did not make as much per sim as I would have being able to go to my sim job, but when you account for the fact that all 4 sims belonged to us, its most definitely better than a swift kick in the arse, and I know that alot of people have at least 2 premium accounts, so even if you did this in EA Land it would still be possible.

I know what you mean. I love the restaurant track too, and although I am making sufficient money to make up for it when I code, it still bites not having it

I had reported the issue previously, hopefully they are aware. I'm sure they have their hands full at the moment

I'm a paid account and I can't get to work either.
It tells me that free accounts can't use this feature or something like that.

I Know I'm gonna get lambasted for saying this, but oh well...the game is called EA Land, not TC3 Land. Test Center 3 is...a test center! Take the bad with the good...and oh yeah, take the free accts with you as well. Blast away

How long we gotta play without jobs? its still not working. at least when (if) the jobs get back every1 can serenade/revive at first level after all that time skilling.

Not to worry, there's no "if" about it. TC3 is meant to give a free player the full experience and encourage them to want to become paid. Jobs will return, otherwise you'll have alot of players who get bored and leave because they can't make any good money and think the game is like that overall.

Thanks. I let the other comment slide, but will say this much. I am a premium player. I do not *have* to play in TC3, I do it because I like to test AND because I like to help new players.....the same new players that alot of other people basically crap on. Somebody has got to let those guys see that not all premium players think we are better than they are just because we pay to play the game and they don't.

As for reporting it as a bug, I honestly hadn't thought about it, but since somebody else said they did I won't, I don't want to flood the e-mail anymore than it already gets flooded with unique problems, rather than 100 reports of the same one LOL.

jobs still not working?
ok Im gone.. 5 days without jpbs can't be a bug. Then they are testing something? what's there to test, "let's see what happens if we close all jobs?" U don't have to be a genius to know what happens then. I really like the game but seems like I discovered the game too late and wish, if u read the forum for a while, that I started to play 1 or 2 years ago. I play for several weeks now and saw lot of bugs, city downs, heated discussions on the forum and lot of changes. I started in EA land as a free player and was pretty far building my own house. Had bought a lot, increased in a few times and had already bought almost all the objects (living, greening and skilling). "even had some pets!!"):) When I was actually saving money (had 2k) the big "city down" came. After that free players couldn't go to work no more in EA land. Saw on the forum that it was never ment to be that free players worked there and it was a bug. Okay fine by me I heard I could test it all out in TC3 so I went there. now its same story again !
I don't mind paying for this game like it a lot but just would build a house first and see how that works out for a while. Now its a game without any goals and targets to achieve. Ok I can make 4500 paintings but thats not really what this game is all about right?
I will check soon again if something has chanced..hope so but after 4/5 days trying to go and "usefull" skilling I gotta do another game. Sorry for bad english but at least I know how to say "mp tU 4 the food" after I got "?tnx" for cleaning up after myself.
:):) seeya all have fun:):):)

Please, at least one of you, actually listen to what I am saying here.

Programming is complicated, its trial and error, and it requires lots and lots of time. With the game online and live, meaning people are playing it, they can't fix problems on a constant basis. Not only that, they need to fix the problems with logins and such first before they address gameplay issues like not being able to work.

BUT, it WILL get done. TC3 WILL get its jobs back for both paid and free players and things WILL get better. The game is in a BETA, testing, stage. If you're paying for it, you were told this up front, and if not, be like me and sit back and ride it out.

*bump*

Jobs still not working. Has anybody heard anything? I wish we could get a 'we're aware of the issue and are working on it' statement from SOMEBODY at least. I know the e-mail address has had at least 10-15 reports sent to it on this, but they don't answer those and they shouldn't but I'd hoped we'd get some kind of public acknowledgement of the bug here?

To quote a line from Brighton Beach Memoirs "If that would were to happen I'd thank God and become a rabbi" LMAO! No really I do hope that happens, I got a good size job today that if I have to fund it with just code is gonna take 2-3x longer. Still doable but damn I feel bad making people wait.

No becoming a rabbi for me
its not fixed. Wonder if we will ever get some kind of acknowledgement even that they know this problem exists, which they have to because I know they've gotten at least 2 dozen e-mails to the bug addy if not more. It's unusual to not even get a 'we're on it' type message....
and discouraged

For any other people who might be thrown off by the sim jobs not working, I thought I'd toss out this bit of FYI as far as making money now......code seems to be 'where it's at'. I've got a team made up of my own sims, 2 of them at 18, the other at 15 and tonight was making 21 simoleans per code (6 simolean base + 15 simolean skill bonus) *plus* my sim that owned the machine was making 4 simoleans extra per code solved. I was able to get a system down even without a cheat sheet/chart that allowed me to solve a code about once every 90-120 seconds. My best round was 420 simoleans per sim, or just over 1200 for the round, which is even better than my main sim makes on the job track. I still miss the job tracks, but at least now it's not such a paincky feeling wondering how I'm going to get the crafting orders that I've gotten done so that I can get the items delivered and get my profit out of them.

Although I can't complain about the money I make working...it's really not about that for me...I really love to job track..and it is one of the reasons I play. I have been playing in ea land and working there, and will continue until the jobs in tc3 are back up. I like ea land, but my home and friends are in tc3.

I've been defending the devs on this since the very beginning, but if I'm being totally honest, even MY steadfast patience is beginning to wear thin. I jam for money, and when I have the time to put in I can make up my job salary, but people are right in asking why there is no word anywhere on this issue. Even a note on the blog to say something. I mean, I realize that EA Land is the main game and we testers in TC3 need to take it as is, but alot of free players are saying they won't ever pay unless these problems are at least addressed to them somwhere to say :We're working on it.

Yeah, that's been the theme I've been hearing also......very few people really want the jobs fixed 'yesterday', but the fact that there hasn't even been an acknowledgement of a problem has alot of people doing the conspiracy theory thing wondering if this is a change that they've slipped in that is intentional and not a bug because sim jobs were how most TC3ers were making their money. I don't think it *was* intentional, but I don't understand why this thread seems to be totally overlooked an not commented on at all by any of the dev team. In this instance it seems like they are setting themselves up for 'Chicken Little/the sky is falling' type paranoia to sprout. Basically 'what' the answer is isn't as important as just GETTING an answer at this point, IMO. I can deal with disappointment and having to rethink gameplan based on new changes, but it just helps to know whether a change is temporary or permanent so you can act accordingly, ya know?
