Targeting on CC

Can anyone tell me what the differnces are with the different targeting methods in the CC? Looked all over and could not find anything that explains them.

There are a few target next, select target macros in the options menu. I have never gotten them to function right and have felt a bit jipped on them for the longest time. I do however use the tab key on occasion and that does help some with finding a target. But using the target next or attack target macros always ends up with me attacking a guild mate or cycling through the rabbits and hinds for ever.

Also the hold ctrl+shift option is my most relied on target method. It will show a small tag for every highlight-able object on screen from which you can pull tags/pick up items. If the screen is overly cluttered still holding this key combo you can right click each small tag and it will disappear until the clutter is navigable. Also when an item/mob is too small to target this is the best way.

Ok, let me give this a shot. First, go into options I forget which tab (off the top of the noggin) and disable 'New Targeting System.'

Next in options go to the circle arrow tab (macros) and select add. The first little macro box thingy, choose 'select nearest.' Another little box thing pops up to the side when you click in it you get a drop down menu, select hostile. Now there's yet another macro box thingy on the left click in it and scroll down to 'Attack Selected.' I always assign this a F key.

Ok thanks will try that. Does anyone know what the New Targeting system even does. I looked all over and can not find anything that tells what it does or how it works.

the "new" targeting system makes the game remember your target.
if you noticed when its on if you double click a mob it gets brackets around it..
now if that mob walks off screen and comes back its still selected..

while this mob is selected you can make macros that cast spells and auto selects this target..

most dont use it tho.. as i think it breaks uoa macros and is very slow..

i remember when i used the CC i turned it off and made mouse wheel up do last target and mouse wheel down do target self.

that way i can just cast spell, mouse wheel up.. or down..


if you are new to the game i would get used to the EC.. its macros are very powerful compared to the CC.

I am kinda of a new old player. I played for years back in the day then took some time off. I have not really tried the EC. How hard is it to adapt to the EC. Is there more lag on it? What are the other benifits beside better macros? Again thanks for everyones help. Part of the reason I love UO is the Peeps.
