I have 594 training points left on my cu, which become my general replacement for the GD
What have you all decided is most valuable all around for more damage - chivalry, tail swipe, grasping claw or explosive goo? I can see if it's chivalry, that would take up 500 of the training points, ruling out the others.
Thanks

For me it all depends on the specific build I am doing.. but for a general all around Cu I personally avoid Chiv like it is the plague. If my general all around Cu was going to be running spawns frequently I would throw Goo on it.. if it was going to be used at Shadowguard and other single combat type areas I would personally go with Ai.. but have heard grasping claw is good as well.

Really depends on how you play the temp though. I personally do not run any of the area effect spells on mine, I load up the mana and stick just AI on it... but I cast sw area spells all the time as they do more damage to a larger area than what the pet can.

I like Conductive Blast and AI on a general purpose Cu. Very good 1v1 Cu.

If you are going to add a magic, you need the 120 scroll on it. You may not have the points.

AI and goo works well on a Cu. The goo makes it change targets a lot. Ive had mine wander off twice while fighting the spawn boss because it Goo d something a screen away. Both times I didn't notice until the boss was near dead. We had a crowd of pets at the boss.

Well, we agree on AI - that was my first choice - I've heard chiv is not so good because the pet often just wastes mana on the wrong spells

Never have used a cu for a spawn but wondering if goo would make it feasible

Also if you dont have focus and meditation at 120, you will have slower mana regen. A magic would not use the full potential.

Goo gives you another type of attack. They will use it on a single target.

Make that one and one with AI and conductive blast and see how you like em.

Cus fit the resists of T Rex and the Great Ape. They are a long solo fight. The Ape does have some distractions.

Ummm... how did it pull that off? The main drawback to the area for me has always been the very small radius of the area it hits. Usually like 2-3 times max.. with the exception of the Dimeo and their pois area one... that one always seems to hit full screen.

Goo hit roughly 10X when it goes off hitting yes a small impact zone but in 10 different places... so it can hit things that are FAR away from you... I've seen my pet hit stuff with Goo on the other side of mountains... and way down a hall... in other rooms... and anywhere mobs are that might look at him funny...

I've tried a lot of pets so far and for me, the one I keep coming back to for general hunting is my 120 Discord, 110 wrestle CU with AI. Since I'm a peace tamer this is a very nice combination.

And that is what makes this patch so subjective. The many different templates of tamers.

I tend to favor two specs heavily in quite a few of my pets. It works well with when i am solo and when I am grouped with a couple of my friends.

As for Kylie's 120 or bust discord, it's like that for many skills. People put it on a pet, either don't scroll or level all the way to 120 then claim it sucks. I'm still not sold on many of the magic schools, but again, I haven't bothered to level to 120 on some of them because I think the AI for their spell casting choice just... isn't what it should be. Exception being natural magery creatures. Sure some of the spells are wasted (98% health heal on a mare?), but actual real world performance they use their
specials rather well.

Kylie's comments on goo gave me a good laugh, but that is all I will say on that. :p
