Taking Advantage of Return to Britannia - A weekend of events

The Return to Britannia promotion provides a great opportunity for a big event weekend where people are encouraged to log in and see what is happening in today's UO. A couple guildmates who returned just for the month long promotion inspired the idea.

The best time I think is the last weekend before the promotion ends, October 9, 10 and 11. That gives 2 full weeks to get the word out and plan events to take place.

I think our guild would be mostly organizing PVP related events. We will probably spawn a couple Harrowers to draw big fights. Other events can be planned such as auctions, plays, bagball matches, etc.

The idea would be to fill the weekend with as much fun as possible. Perhaps it will be so much fun that people will consider subscribing once again. I hope other guilds will put on spectacular events the same weekend and let their members know about it.

Great idea. Ooh, I'd love to do the Harrower, but that's not really UWF's cup o' tea. We have been running the new peerless a lot, though.

An organized harrower event would be great. I've never done that myself.
I'd participate and try to bring others that never did it.

Another potential event could be a tour of custom house designs.

Another event could be a trivia contest with prizes.

Someone could fill a house with loot and collapse it like an IDOC.

There are tons of things people could do. If everyone did something it would be a full weekend. Maybe it could become an annual event, not just something tied to this promotion. A sort of festival.

Okies, so far I think UWF is going to offer Around-the-World peerless - hit all the peerless encounters a time or two.

Still working on other ideas.

It doesn't sound like anyone else is interested in doing this. I would just suggest UWF do their own thing and HOT will do ours.

Today is Tuesday. The average event is only publicized 2 to 4 days before hand. If you have an event post it or submit it and we will add it to the front Atlantic News Page asap.

I would have loved to do an event but I am a guild of one and I'm in the middle of the biggest reorganization of Goodman's Library since I moved it to Makuto. I have been dropping runes and have been getting new people that way.

We can post it, drop books and runes for any event if anyone is still game for this. Keep in mind though most players returning might not have that much and what they do have is probably outdated. I can throw up a few more free boxes if people want to donate LRC items etc. and perhaps do a crafting morning on Saturday to help supply people with decent items with some volunteers. Then you can take them to the Harrower and the Peerless and get them all killed.

I just came back myself. I'd be more than happy to participate in any events. I haven't played since before Renaissance... That's like ancient history and accordingly, none of my characters were saved from back then. I started over with a paladin. I've been hammering my skills for the past couple of days. I'm almost at GM for most of them.

It's been a lot of fun, but there's a lot to take in after being gone for so long. I've been kind of overwhelmed with the new items and gear itemization. That and I couldn't even come close to affording 99% of what's up for sale on vendors. (I also lost a Lord Blackthorn's Exemplar because I didn't know about item insurance =\) I've been running on the SA client so far. It has its ups and downs. I like the new interface and UI, but I would much, much prefer the classic UO graphics and paper dolls and I'm not a fan of the grid inventory.

I think I may buy Stygian Abyss because I'm kind of tempted to see what's new. All I need to do now is learn how to make money.

My character's name is Alric if anyone has seen me around.

United We Fight: Current Weekend Schedule

Friday, October 9 - Ilshenar Valor/Humility and Tokuno champs. Gates will be provided to the UWF guild house between 8:00 - 8:45 pm EST. The hunt will start at 9:00 pm EST.

Saturday, October 10 - Slasher of the Veils, possibly SA mini-champs. Gates will be provided to the UWF guild house between 8:00 - 8:45 pm EST. The hunt will start at 9:00 pm EST.

Sunday, October 11 - "Around the World Tour of Peerless," to (hopefully) include Shimmer, Travesty, Mel, Grizzle, Paroxy, Medusa, and the Stygian Dragon. Gates will be provided to the UWF guild house between 8:00 - 8:45 pm EST. The hunt will start at 9:00 pm EST. Come early if you'd like to help gather keys.

If you plan to attend any of these events, make sure you have the appropriate quests/expansions. Also, there won't be any recruiting spiel. If you're interested in learning more about UWF, just PM me.

Looks like some people are doing the Sleeping Dragon in Tokuno Islands now. It would have been a good idea to keep an update what spawn is going.

Aye, I ended up there on accident. got to do the three. That tokuno spawn is killer. I was getting red-lined left and right. in the time it took me to kill an Oni the champ died. Props to the girl doing humility by herself, shes must have died over 100 times.
muy bien. very unhappy i may not get to hit up the public fel champs. but I encourage everyone to go! Primeval lich is immersive, fun, and badass. He has that sick ass uppercut move from mortal combat that throws you up a level.

For Sunday's event, does the quest chain to enter Bedlam start with Mistaken Identity? I wasn't too sure after reading on UOGuide. I was hesitant to go hammer my karma killing good karmic creatures.

Aye... mistaken identity will get you bedlam access. No way to avoid the karma loss unless you buy the pixie legs, unicorn rib and kirin brains from another player.

I apparently went red for no explainable reason 2 hours into the tram champ spawns. as GMs have limmited to no power. I wont be able to make any of these events. nhbdy? pics?
