Notice: Anyone who dyed their swamp dragon armor deeds with the Dyes of Tokuno, and then created neon pets, will find their swampies reverted to Iron in the near future.

The use of dyes in this manner is not intended.

that was the number one best thing about when UO had it's own boards ran by the game company, only people that have accounts can post.

I think every colour i've actually seen on these swampies has looked absolutely hideous.

Even my favourite ToT colours such as Luna White and Berserker Red just look garish.

I for one am glad they are nipping this in the bud as it makes a mockery of the setting.

Reminded me of the days of Test Sosaria when Hanse, Speedman and Mr Tact was putting out those colors. And yeah, the bank was very eye blistering lol

Thanks Draconi

I wasn't referring to the swampie dyers, but replying to another poster's suggestion about tackling other cheating in game.

Though I'm sure there will be a witch hunt against the players who made millions selling dyed swampies, but I'm not involved in that in any way. I tried to warn players not to make or buy these items, but it sure didn't go down well. Now those disgruntled customers might have some choice words for the players who sold them deeds. I'm having nothing to do with it :)

I DID see a lot of runes spread around Pac for some Vendors with "Haven" and "Hunter" in the title on the rune, that was advertising "Dyed Swampy Armor" for sale...hmmm....

I wonder how much that player made off of people, who will now have nothing but Iron?

Interesting thought, indeed.

I wonder if people who made millions off of others, for Iron Barding Deeds, can see how transparent it is that they try to defend their position...

Maybe not...oh well...I am glad they fixed this unintended "Feature" as well.

Nicely Done, Draconi. I know I can't wait for the encore!!

Surgeries, talk about people making millions off others on this stuff, leads me to wonder about that neon leather dye tub for 100mil, I seen this morning on a vendor, is this a legit item?
I feel so behind times and not sure.

I guess it has to be Buyer Beware.

I saw that post about people selling basic and simple Quest Rewards from New Haven that anyone can just go and get themselves for nothing, but the Vendors are selling them for 700K each or something...yikes...

But yes...there are an awful lot of things in UO that I do not know...for sure.

Dye Tubs for 100 Mill...man oh man.:sad4:

What's even more interesting is that same vendor has been giving refunds to those that bought those deeds since the announcment was made that they were going to be changed.

Yep. Really interesting.

I hate scammers and cheaters as much as anyone.

But this was available to anyone 24/7 and it wasnt the least bit expensive.

I dont see the need to fix this.

IMO, this is a time where UO screwed up and it actually worked out quite nice as the colored Swampies dont give any benefit except color.

Its not like anyone gets a playing benefit from this.

This seems like the sigil dyed items which are now legal.

I dont see why this has to be changed and I dont even own one.

I think they are ugly...but who cares if someones swampy is pink, blue orange...or green.

Since you're too lazy to read every post in the forums (including threads that have scrolled down to page two [like OMG lazy]), here is a quote from another thread somewhere else. It may seem unrelated at first but force yourself to read all four sentences.

why would they revert house addons? They've been dyeable for ages - they didn't become accidentally dyeable with this last patch =)
Right, we wouldn't, you've been able to do that forever.

Swamp dragons, though, were broken by accident, and unlike nice, private housing decorations, can be mobile neon assault weapons on the eyes.
As you can see, the dev team doesn't agree with you, and they are like 100 times more powerful than you in UO forum land.

I just have to mention here that one of our guildmates called a GM to ask if an item he had BOUGHT was bannable (if that's a word) and, you guessed it, they banned him! What a crock!

A GM also banned a guild leader (won't name names) for warning her guild members about the illegality of duped items during a meeting (I guess because she was discussing it at all?).

Mythic knows about the problems with unscrupulous GMs at EA, but aren't allowed to do anything about it, nor are they allowed to comment in threads like this. EA does see some kind of benefit to these types of GMs, so the GMs will stay.

Oh yeah..........like anyone has the time or desire to read a million posts. get real!
That really hurt my feelings.

You call me lazy..yet completely ignore my comparison in the same paragraph.

I used the Sigil dyed items which were done by a glitch...and they allowed it to stay.

You call my lazy for not going through thousands of posts...yet you completely ignore my point in 1 post.

So lets re-check this.

I am lazy because I dont scour through thousands of posts.
You are not even though you are too lazy to even read the one you are bashing.

If you want glittery colors go play Hello Kitty Online or something. This is Ultima Online. This is Britannia, man! You better be glad the Avatar can't get into our broken shards, because he'd put you on his list of bad guys I bet.

This is a BS call. Deeded items are made to be dyed. Whats next? Forges Anvil Perch WaterTroughs BillBoards..........the barding is something that breaks. All those dye haters should be promoting this use to get rid of them.

The real pisser is I got lucky and checked stratics before getting on the game. And found it here and not Ohhhhh.........something like the patch window...........before wasting a few of what little charges I have left. Whats sad is 1/4 the the UO experience needs to be sifting through stratics for the good and bad before I log on. It's the spilled milk that missed the bucket and soaked into the BS. Let it be. Like the parent that tells their kid to stop F'ing swearing.

It is a bad fix. Point blank.

Regine stated that the shrouds are are dyeable. Can't comment on the durability though. I've never even seen a shroud in game.

I don't think they should be reverted...they aren't hurting the game and they're a whole lot easier to target in PvP. GET THE GUY ON THE BLUE SWAMPY!!

Lame. Some players get creative with the items through rules (read: code) you guys implement and because you failed to predict this situation you remove this. Way to squash the creative spirit that was once the heart and soul of UO.
