sunday nights and maxing

well what do we think? from my perspective last night went well. at the cj, trish said she thought everyone made it from the vp and cfo. my cj boarded 4strongs and 4 not so strongs and we all danced.

did any group have a problem? if not, then clearly that is the way we should go. it sure would save trish an enormous amount of stress and frustration, and although we may not be able to sf chat with all members we battle with, hey we are a smart group of toons and i'm sure we can find a way to make speed chat work for us. lately in random boss fights, i say "let's use drop" "sorry i can't" or "let's use trap ".."ok". to let people know to not expect me to drop on a door in front of a 12.

and the always useful..."can you help me" when you know the cog isn't going to die with your gag alone.

next, i've been thinking about the maxing situation.... moonlight mcboo was created as a stratics member and all her maxings have been with stratics on sunday nights. that being said, i also realize that stratics is about teamwork and having fun.

i do believe sunday night maxings should continue. i would also never be adverse to repeating a boss battle if for some reason we didn't have enough strong toons. we already do it for revenge runs sometimes.

how about if since we never really know who will be coming on sunday and who won't, that the toon maxing posts the members they want to be part of their maxing. the toons then set themselves apart off to the side so that no one counts them in as part of the "strong" and "not so strong".

then if it looks like we won't have enough to have full runs, perhaps, that special maxing group can go in 1st and maybe some would be willing to go again and fill in so that everyone can enjoy a cj if they wanna go? maybe the newly maxed would even like to try out their new suit? it would mean that there may be a delay before the last group can go in, but it would allow for full groups and let everyone who wants to cj.

what do you think?

I didn't have any trouble on any of my runs last night, and it seemed to go smoothly imho. The only trouble that I know of anyone having is with that certain dog who apparently lurks around here and is a pain for anyone he goes on runs with. However, he left the CFO last night, and didn't show to the CJ, so maybe we're done with him.

All in all, I think everything went well, and I don't have a problem with maxing groups staying around. What's wrong with wanting to max with group of friends? It makes the battle much more enjoyable and "special" for the maxing toon!!

I say have fun, but then again, I'm always down for whatever...:D

Regarding that dog.. Daddio Dog whispered to him, 'Stop that!' and he left. I have declared Daddio Dog my bouncer. :gun:

Everyone needs to be mindful of those last loads. The 2nd to last VP left with 8, leaving us with 4. I had to leave the horse and grab big kitty, as all four toons weren't strong toons.

The CFO was flawless. We had three groups of 8. We ended up with 3 craners and 5 stompers on the last run, but someone got to play around with a crane so it's all good.

The CJ.. I found out what happened afterward, but at the time it was very frustrating. We had enough standing to go 8 8 7, and we ended up 8 6 6. But beyond that, I had a heck of a time getting 6 to load on teh 2nd run. I went, and said "One more?" and got two. So we had to unload, then it took about three more tries before we could get six (no one would load with the five of us). I saw who was left.. friends. Large suits, too. You guys can't do this. Regardless, it was a slow win, but we did it with no unites.

We had a VP run afterward, but it was at the request of a few who came late (August, Maxie, Sheriff), not for revenge. We had 7 for that run and it went smoothly.

I agree with the maxing rus being seperate from the group. Last night was my frist max run. I had everyone show up during the beanfest and we left the pit as the beanfest was over. We had a FUN and SUCCESSFUL VP with 2 toons completing there SELL MAXING. I returned to the pit and ran with another group that asked me to help max. They were standing off to the side like we did. Again another FUN and SMOOTH run. I also had the pleasure of trying out my key for a 2nd time with Trish, Daddio, August,Sheriff, Maxie, and one other toon that escapes my memory(have been sic al morning and can't think).

I think lining up the max run just a little early is a great idea. As well as that group making the run first. If I would have waited I would have only had the opportunity to make one run during the VP and one after.

The CFo and CJ I was in both went smoothly. I always enjoy the battles that go alitte odd handed or short handed as it helps me to become a stronger player.

That CJ was TOTALLY AWESOME. I couldn't believe that no one wanted to LOAD with TRISH and ELGA both on the elevator. I sat here shaking my head. We did go short handed, and there was Gavels everywhere cause I was the smallest toon. But after a few minutes I got the hang of it and it went rather smoothly. Thanks to all the toons in that battle. I watched trish stun and could only sit here slack jawed. I hope oneday to stun 3 or 4 cogs consistantly. But to watch someone like Trish do it is INSPIRING.

All in all I had a blast.

And to top off my nite Hareless an uber from Stratics (LFPinkerphooey) messaged me just before I logged off and asked me to accompany her uber into it's SELL bot maxing. When I arrived we had 4 toons standing around. Miss me, and Ethan who I invited to our stratics runs last night and hareless. After a few minutes 2 more toons came into the pit and we had a SECOND DOUBLE MAXING. It was awesome. The battle went smoothly. Both toons got their key's. The VP was very busy last night cutting all those keys.

Everyone said how much fun they had last night at the runs. They also said thank you for letting them join the festivities.

One last thing. Trish, was last night more enjoyable for you? You seemed to me to have more fun.

OH YEAH. I could read the silly talk and whispers and participate, and other than the problem with uneven loads at the end all went very well. The highlight of MY night was when Daddio strongarmed our nuisance toon. lol

Last night is how it should be. The runs should be able to run like clockwork without a human running then. We will act like trained ballerina's and enter the elevator just when the time is right..:lick: It will take some time and practice, but we'll get the hang of it!

I agree with Joe that the maxing run toons should go first. Actually, we threw some beans between the cogs and skelecogs just for fun because we missed the fest. By leaving early, I'm sure there wasn't anyone wondering who that group over there is and are they too good for us, etc.

Little Daffodil's group had to go after the rest of the groups because Joe and Aimee had to finish their own vp. That was us over in that group and I thought there were some extras with us from Stratics. I felt bad as I knew they were wondering what was going on. I wish there was some kind of code phrase to use to tell someone we are doing a special run. Saying Sorry I'm helping a friend doesn't seem to work as it makes it sound like we are just talking to randoms. Maybe we can come up with a phrase that only refers to "This is a maxing run" so those trying to join will realize we don't think we are special but there as requested. Any ideas?

Oooh, I forgot that group had to wait. Maybe waiting groups shouldn't be in the pit, but up in the corner by the doors....

They were standing off to the side by themselves, but I think you have a good idear.

I'm up for the job, but I'll likely be absent next Sunday, at least for the VP. We'll be out of town visiting the in-laws and solving some computer issues. If we are free, there's only one computer (if I get it working) which I've promised my son for the VP. We'll probably switch and I'll join in for the CFO. Wish me luck.

We had a VP run afterward, but it was at the request of a few who came late (August, Maxie, Sheriff), not for revenge. We had 7 for that run and it went smoothly.
Last run - Good ol' Spiffy was the 7th. I didn't realize others had requested the run. I'd asked because my son, playing August, tried to get on the elevator at the regular time and found he'd forgotten to max his merits and was 8 short. School's started so that will probably be the last revenge run he makes for a while. Thanks to all who came.

You were the first. Sheriff asked if help was needed, then Maxie asked if a run was happening because she missed the first one.
