For the most part, I'm against the idea even though I have had a 4 year break in play.
However, I will offer this as being the only equitable counter to your idea.
If you want to pay for "account age" upgrades, then you should be willing to pay the additional $13.95 PER MONTH of age upgrade to the account. After all, that's what all the veterans have had to do. It's hardly fair that someone can jump up a full year just by adding roughly 2 months worth of subscription fee.
Does this idea seem attractive? I'm guessing no, but the OP suggestion was a slap in the face to all who have stuck through the rough times of the game.
