Right now when I loot almost any MOB in the game except CHAMPS and Renowned, I only look at rings and bracelets, the rest is junk and not worth enhancing. Instead of bumping the loot tables, gives us a small chance to get exceptional items that have a weight of 500 for imbuing. By small chance, I'm thinking of 10%.

Given the randomness of properties, even a small proportion of those exceptional items would be worth taking, yet it would still be worth looking at each item once again with hopes of imbuing a really great item. I would think this should be simple to implement coding wise.

i think that works against the whole reason they don't want relics being obtained from loot, I could be wrong but I understand why you might want this.

I would amend the idea by suggesting that there be "Masterwork" items only attainable through monsters and treasure hunting that would just be blank items with over 500 intensity cap. Maybe from a selection of unique colors as well.

Imbuing really wrecked the loot dynamic, and something like this would help make it worth while to hunt monsters for anything other than gold, imbuing stuff, or boss drops.

I'm sure there could be other things as well, cause as it sits right now theres little reason to hunt most monsters.

As a vet... I loot solely to unravel, mostly only garg items (since they got that bump over human/elf items). was gm before I ever even made anything
as a new toon... I'll take Anything! try starting a new one, no help, no gold, 1 sword, total ar=0

They could do a whole load of bumps to the monster loot. 500 or even 550 cap items. 6th mod slot. Beyond 100% cap on random mod chances.

Just need to keep the spawn generator low so players can't burn it out with an uber suit collected in less then a year. Suits should be built around one or few theese items and not the whole damn thing.

And lets not forget theese high end loot items could be relic, brittle or cursed also. Could even go old school and bring back negative mod effects that are locked and can't be imbued back positive.

The dirty rock bottom on looting for imbuing and enhancing for a vendor market.................LOW DURABILITY, and the pain in the arse getting PoF to make anything worth a damn before imbuing. Even if loot stayed as it is, but had 25% chance of being at 255 from the start would make a diffference. Not like the 255 will hurt the unravel market.

At the High Seas reveal almost a year ago, I suggested to some of the devs, while we were standing at the table with Queen Mum's cookies (delicious, but rather hard after shipping to Va.) the following:

Make SOS and Treasure Map items from chest Exceptional, but only in name.

Essentially, they'd have whatever properties were rolled, but have the 500 cap instead of the 450.

This would make the T-map and SOS loot more valuable, as they could be imbued to the same level as crafted items. More so for weapons, as you'd have the majority of weapons in such a state as Exceptional, but with no DI property, allowing 5 total properties to be imbued (whereas currently, it's a matter of using normal weapons to get 5 properties at 450, or losing one property to DI, resulting in only 4 other properties, up to the high 490s, after reducing DI to minimum with Imbuing).

They seemed receptive to the idea (the concept appeared to be completely out of the box compared to where their ideas for loot were), but in the last year nothing appears to have come from the suggestion.

In reguards to monster loot! Leave it allone! Wow never thought i would say that. I fight big things and get huge loot lists i scrutinize every item for relic frags and I get lots! typically one peerless will yield 2-10 items that will result in relics when unraveled by a gargoyal with 120 imbue at the queens forge! and since i can solo meli in under 20 min thats not to shabby a return! Also my sampire would be lost without the items that spawn with 100% elemental dmg and no other mods since i droped chiv fantastic base items to imbue. yeah only 450 intensity but hey i not greedy like so many of you! 450 is more then enough to imbue what i want! Imbueing is so strong it has made most items not worth looking at but then every now and then something drops which will blow anything you could ever imbue away with 600+ intensity worth of properties on it! Also the new 6 mod items in treasure chests are potentially the best items in game! so far i have gotten a coupple keepers out of treasure chests one ring i found was
1/2 fc fcr 11 energy resist 8 lmc 18 lrc 11 sdi! not bad for a found item! wish was 1/3 but oh well ill find one like it one day! Also off the dark father i found a brace with 5 skills all 13-15 way over 700 intensity! same goes for peerless and champs i have gotten items off them with serious intensitys!

Just because you don`t find many items worth keeping off the monsters does not mean they don`t drop try doing some strong box quests big intensity items come out of them all the time!

No you wont find a killer 5 mod 500+ intensity off a ettin in new haven but you might find a 100 elemental dmg weapon worth keeping or a ring/brace with one or two mods that would require relics like a 15 hci ring or a 1/3 ext ext ext. i admit armor is useless though! but weapons and jewels are worth a look and even armor can have enough to become relics now and then.

All i want is for LUCK to work!

Simpler answer:

Add "Masterwork" as a loot property. It adds 10 to 100 imbuing points to the cap of the item rolled. It could be a very rare attribute, but still possible, with the luck of a GM+ Imbuer perhaps giving it a bump, and favor of the Gargoyle queen perhaps another bump.

However, if they do this to loot they should add it to possible results of runics as well to make it fair to crafters.

to anyone that says monster loot sucks, they dont wear luck..

also not all is junk, i get alot of 100% damage weapons from loot.. many are usable, just cant be maxed out.

Is it really worth it? Having an appreciable amount of luck is at the sacrifice of another property(ies). We'll really never know what loot will look like w/o luck in comparison to having it.

I wish it was never added to the game. I hate getting a good item to imbue and see that Luck is on it.

I don't think thats necessary. Crafters are over balanced right now as a source of useable items, thats why this post arose after all.

There need to be more things that only appear as loot off of monster or treasure chests/sos.

I wouldn't say that its junk exactly, but how often do you find someone thats more useful than something easily imbued?

100% weapons are the only thing I look out for (and they are often ruined by bad properties) on non named monsters since the chance that non named monsters will spawn a relic worthy item is pretty low.

Why not just give us a new realm to explore and tell us nothing. In it you would find the Master item idea or the occasionaly 500 weight item.

We are given too much about too little and end with nothing interesting in 2 weeks time.

Please stop that.

UO is no longer capable of a new realm addition. This should be apparent at this stage in the game. Mini boosters and post-poned content additions pretty much spell that out. We are close to coming up on our 1 yr "major" content addition that was high seas(you know, the one that was already being worked on before the producers musical chairs game began.)

As for the loot issue...well, that is the problem with the game dynamics. The developers painted themselves into a corner with imbuing as it was implemented. Now it's a problem making carrots people are interested in.
