Stygian Abyss issue that still needs to be corrected...

Simply put in a single image:



This ledge, plus the fenced in area of trash in the Clan Scratch area of the Cavern of the Discarded need to be blocked in terms of creature spawning.

But it's in the forefront of my mind currently as the goblin spawn is one I've been working for the past few days.

The ratman/cavern spawn is also high on my list for Abyss crawls, though the goblin spawn does have an advantage over the rat spawn in that as long as it's not the Reknowned Goblins that spawn over that ledge, at least the spawn cycle continues, in the ratman area, if a single ratman from any one of the cycles of the spawns remains (either out of place or in an inaccessible area) the spawn STOPS until that ratman is found and killed.

If you want me to go further, the Dark Wisps in their spawn at least used to spawn underground though I haven't really worked that spawn enough lately to see if they still do so or not.

I'm sure there are plenty more, just hoping that it gets noticed with the "new tone" of communication.

okay. we'll see. Frankly this makes me mindful of making a list of stuff going back as far as SE, by expansion mind you, that could/should be addressed. None of it is game breaking but it is annoying.

Another example is the fire demon spawn in termur overland. Creatures there frequently spawn underground or at places where you cannot reach them.

The whole add on was broken out of the box, babe. Like... these tower like area teleporter stands... that have no teleporters in them. Or that very rubbish room. I've checked it out several times and it only seams to have books, runes, and spell books... nothing else. I may be wrong, but those items... I thought, would never reach the rubbish bin.

Wow… well, I’m glad I made that comment, otherwise I would have never know about these towers. Thank you Petra.

And yes, these launching towers are one and the same. I only have 1 gargoyle out of my several accounts, most accounts I didn’t even bother upgrading because I was not impressed at all with this addition (still am not), but if I had ever seen these hidden sparkles with the characters I explore and fight with, it would have sparked interest. Otherwise, this land is just full of overly-powerful, stress-generating, ambush monsters… that once I explored the most I could, I was well done with it. The only reason I go into the land is to by fertile dirt for my plant factory. It's still a massive waist of space… but if people love the hunting, then all the reason. Just… I never see anyone out hunting in these lands outside special events. The dungeon… more people. More to do and by different skill levels. It's just the land, what I’m saying is a waist.

:) I admit some areas can be a little daunting, but if you know where you're going it's oki. Try a flight around the towers, they allow you to fly higher than normal and be above the spawn, out of reach.
I chop wood in the area near the houses, hunt toxic sliths just over the bridge from there, mine in the enclosed valley around the shrine and kill undead gardians and silver serpents in the tomb of kings. I've dug treasure maps in several different spots. I avoid areas where there are known to be raptors, kepetch ambushers and trapdoor spiders. Though I have had quite a lot of fun hunting trapdoor spiders with one character. She has stealth and detect hidden. I reveal the spiders and kill them with a pair of summons. One earth and one water elemental.

I love the ambush monsters. I would actually like to see more of the monsters try and fight smarter then just get higher hit points. Of course I am a glutton for punishment too so...

I still want to be cruising along to the next spawn and get mugged by a random group of mobs...

that and invasions, we are due for a good, solid, wtf just happened invasion...

I discovered a couple weeks ago, that there are at least 2 spots you can stand on to teleport back to that ledge with the goblins, kill them and loot them. You can telly from the plain dirt to dirt, don't target the rock or it will not work.

I grab some teleport scrolls from the NPC mages and use my Sampire down there. Hope it helps.

Yes I know exactly the spot too cause i went then specifically to hunt the Fire Demons...... but after paging a GM to move them 3 or 4 times I finally decided I didn't want to waste that much time.

I did try the flight towers after reading your message before… before I responded. It was interesting… outside a bad turn in the road by those 2 house area. Granted, I think that path is fun… but it really doesn’t do much to change my opinion. I also did my fair share of hunting back when it was new. Mostly the toxic sliths, collecting the crystals for dyes. I tried other areas as well. I even had a crafter collecting queen loyalty points to get the unraveling bonus at the queen’s forge… after the staff changed the rules about that little number, thus wasted my time. hehe. I’m far more about commerce then hunting. That whole addition is fairly useless to me. Major improvements would be needed to make it interesting. :popcorn:

Dermott, what kind of character are you hunting with?
Melee, Bush/Chiv Mace in particular though I have taken to carrying a Repond Slayer bow and some arrows with me down to the Abyss just for this case although with no real Archery skill, it takes quite a bit of time and arrows to take down anything caught in an inaccessible area (even more so if it's a Henchman or reknowned Ratman).

While it's POSSIBLE to kill the creatures, there's no reason for them to be spawning in such locations.

Will try something like that out tonight and see. It's more of an annoyance than game-breaking, but it is something I think should be looked at when time allows.
