How do I get to blackthorns castle ?? I have runes that take me inide and it seems to be burning (on Origin) but no mobs and gate to get out is locked. whats best way to get there ??

If you're inside you can teleport up to guard walk and step on tele square which will put you on outside of gate. If Origin is like Chessie that's as far as you go as portion of bridge was blown by keg.

Uhh you're not supposed to go in there?? 
Rioters have taken over the castle and looted it.....
BUT if you insist....get a boat...sail over....teleport to the front garden and walk inside.
Guards in there everywhere they seem to be oblivious to the fire :/

Yes I have runes marked to inside the castle and the fire (it does not damage you when you stand in it) and the guards everywhere but nothing to do once i am in there !!

You're not supposed to be in there hun.....I know that we can all sneak in there and be all like HEY LOOK AT ME IM IN THE CASTLE but if you follow the event you're not supposed to be in there or do anything in there...YET....perhaps at a later date we will be able to restore the castle but for now there's not much we can do.

I'm a little at loss in history... It seems like there's really 2 castles, why? Is one the 'business' end of Sosaria (Britannia), and the other is the personal residence of who ever is in charge? Isn't Blackthorn dead? his old place kept like a monument to a martyr?

Thanks Larisa, nice link. Like the pic. of BT., he's a nasty bit of work. Still not sure why the Two Castles but I'll explore a little more. Maybe a branch of this event will end with something happening (changing) to BT castle. Other than the fire I mean.
The castle by the Library is Lord British. The other castle is Lord Blackthornes. They were friends until Blackthorne lost his mind. In the old days British Castle was the center of Order and Blackthornes the center of Chaos.
I'm no Ultima lore keeper, but yes I think Blackthorn is dead at this point in UO. Why is his castle still there? Because just because someone's dead, doesn't mean their castle also goes poof?
As for why are there two castles? Short answer: One was Lord British's, one was Lord Blackthorn's. Lord Blackthorn's is considered to be outside the borders of Britain and stands in opposition to Lord British and Castle British. Castle British is basically the Capitol of Britannia, with Britain being the Capital of Britainnia.

Its not really that simple. Britain is the capital of an alliance of cities. Namely the virtue cities, Vesper and Serpents Hold which is the military base for the royal guards. Thanks Mirt, O'brien. I'm not a big rp player but I have to admit this kind of info and Larisa's link really add a flavor to the game.
That is the point of a backstory, afterall. And that's why we complain when the Devs add something that doesn't quite "fit" into the game world.

I didn't know until after I read that link that they tried to bring back Lord British at one time, since they saved his castle... I wonder if he bought an advance beta of that character clone we were hearing about? What's to stop it from happening? Player toon mortality? hah, happens every day, more for some of us
