Stumped!

Wearing an all 70's sorcerer suit.
No debuffs on the bar are shown.
Died recently.
Nefarious necro.
99.6 magic resist skill.
+1 physical resist on shield.
+13 on bracelet.


And yet......55 physical resist with shield and brace unequipped, 69 with em on.
Paged a gm, of course, a canned response about not having the resources to look see if the item (say whut?) was bugged when I asked em to come see if my TOON was bugged!

Swapped out suit for another crafted one, and guess what?
Yup, same issue!
Any ideas my fellow britannians?

get yourself killed, you may have a residual reactive armor or protection cast on you that isn't showing on your buff bar.

Edit: specifically get yourself killed while naked so there isn't anything on you to change your stats/resists/abilities

Wife had this happen on 2 different characters. Each time had to page a gm to fix it.

You have to make your page very precise. Say you are naked with NO SPELLS current active and your physical resists are -15(guessing)

Make sure you stay naked until the GM comes because they are notoriously dense about this kind of thing.


ADD* If the killing yourself naked thing doesn't work anyway. Post if it does please. Would save a GM call.

I had the same problem a month back. No visible debuffs, but something ate 20 PR. The solution for me was to stone magic resist, put on the armour and then stone it back on again. Why that reset it I don`t know.

its either arch protection, protection or magic reflect.
sometimes it doesnt show on the buff bar.

if ur -15 pr then i believe its the protection spell bug, if ur -20 i believe its the hyru lower pr attack bug. didnt know about soulstoning resist off and on, had to get gm to fix the hyru pr bug on me. thnx for the info though will try it next time it happens to me lol

I did die and it didnt help.

I used a remove ward tally, no help.

Paged a gm to which he said they couldnt help me with a "bugged item", errr it was a canned response.

Sent another more evil message about checking my toon not an item, and had to log before they got to me.

Funny thing is, when i equip the (just tried this too) virtue armor, I am then at all 70 resist.

Thought maybe it was the sorcerer suit, but yet I donned another barb crafted suit and it showed minus 15 phys too!

Im off to die "naked" as I didnt do that one yet.
Sheesh!!

It seems it was my turn, and after trying even my own tricks nothing worked. I paged for help and GM Soulrais visited me in a quick 10 minutes to fix the issue. A big thanks to the GM for the assistance.

HEH... you did it wrong... you are supposed to kill yourself 10 times with a full insured armor suit on.

Actually, the self-killing never worked... for this or stuck skills, or anything else. GM's are the only way to fix this one.

Had this issue in the past, screamed blue murder at the GM's... still got canned response. So I paged for something completely different just to get to talk to them. Next thing they say I cant use that chara till the issue is resolved.. (Was my main dexxer... no dungeoning for me) waited a WEEK! still nothing other than that the issue is being looked at. Screamed blue murder again, after about a dozen pages finally got to talk to someone who said hang on... and fixed it.

I seriously wonder if they actually pay monkeys to do this work, cos it dosnt take a scientist just to take a quick look at someones page. I cant believe the code is that shoddy that they are unable to just look at the stats in a paged preview and see whats what.

But then, when I've asked things like that I get told "Sorry, I cannot divulge that information to a third party." I ask why and then I get told "EA's inner workings are not privvy to those outside of the company"...

Mind you after that, the GM that fixed my toon for me then played a game around Luna. I cant remember his/her name but it began with a V. Think I posted about it on the old stratics forums at somepoint.

Shame Mythic cant take control over the CSR department for UO, at lest EA's Customer Service wouldnt be a joke anymore!
