a bit slow in refreshes of threads when posting a response. FF reports hang at "waiting for vboards.stratics.com" for a good 5-10 seconds when reloading page after quick reply.

Stratics wouldn't even open to the homepage last night. For about 7 hours it kept giving me the "OOPS, that site is not available at this time."

Today, it's slow, but at least everything opens...just gotta wait 30+ seconds for things to happen: click a thread - gotta wait, backing out of UHall to the main page - gotta wait, click on Shard forum - gotta wait, Rares/Holiday/Trade forums...all the same...wait for them to open, then wait for the thread of interest to open.

All other sites, ebay, google, yahoo, espn, msnbc, general web surfing, etc. all open as usual with no wait time.

Speedtest.net results:
Ping: 5ms
Download Speed: 31.4Mbps
Upload Speed: 5.19Mbps

I have done it. I do it everyday and night. CCleaner ftw Even after doing that it still slow then fast and slow. Sometimes get the error page from cloudfire. Last time it completely booted me out until now. I was surprised that my message on another topic went through even after I got the error.

(not sure it is the special relativity or the general relativity)

slow like hell, is based on the ego being.

if you be in full swing with your beloved, an hour feel like minutes
BUT if you sit on a red heat stove plate, a minute feel like endless hours

so yes, hell is definitily slow

I blocked it with ABP for firefox when this came up in another topic just recently. Sadly with that and the various advertising things (including one of those annoying 1x1 pixel trackers) all blocked stratics is still slow to load most of the time

It is reloading every page over and over. Without hitting the stop bottom it causes Opera to use around 30% cpu.

Stephen, our SYSOP, found that our server only had 2 of 4 CPU cores enabled. He has installed two new cores and the server load is now much lower.

Can't say yet. It seems to be going thru phases of decent speed to dreadfully slow.

At the moment it feels normal. We'll see.

The only thing I find that helps is to keep cleaning the cache every few minutes
