There was a database error message being displayed earlier, but it didn't prevent login or posting. I also noted some odd symbols in posts today, which may be where smileys were meant to be.
That may be completely unrelated to whatever on the site that is causing AV programs to trigger now.
I have ads blocked in my browser, and have not received any alerts from my AV programs.
By the way, I have mentioned this a number of times, but although it takes some extra effort on the part of the user, I highly recommend use of a hosts file to block known malware and advertising sites.
I have been using
this method for a few years. If you sign up for email updates, when they add new entries to the list for blocking, they will notify you. You can manually install the text file using their instructions or use the batch utility they provide to automatically do it for you. Make sure you follow the instructions for your version of operating system to put the file in the correct place.

P.S. I understand that a lot of sites such as this are fueled by advertisers but I got tired of the constant battle of the banner ads. So...I don't see them now.
