STOP MULTI-BOXING IN UO

This is not REMOTELY in the spirit of Ultima Online.

Please do something about this.

10+ players controlled by the same computer. All with level 6 focus.
Thats 40 "summon fey" controlled by ONE PERSON.

This has got to be stopped immediately.

ONE COMPUTER PLAYS/PRESSES one macro... wither, or all kill, or WHATEVER and all 10 account repeat the action.

Multiclient is OK, i see no problem with this, you pay for multiple accounts and should be able to login with which ever amount of accounts you pay for,

Mythic did give in to this some time ago. although as an unsupported feature.

however.. im with OP on this, Multiboxing or in any other way controlling mulitple chars with one set of controls is NOT OK.

Wow...that must be what I saw on Catskills, I think it was. Or was it Chesapeake. Guy rolled in with like 10 of the same looking newb chars to run them all in for a reward (Virtuebane event), and they all moved at once.

He is on Catskills. He stands at Yew Gate and any red character that passes by just falls flat. You can't do anything against him b/c he only stands in the GZ and he only flags on one person at a time therefore the only person he is ever "gray" to is the person that has 40 pixie's on his ass....

Today, he stood at the door of Marble, stam blocking the door (also in Guard Zone) with a wither spam..

Keep in mind, this represents no talent, merely someone that is cheating his way to protect other worthless players that can't protect a spawn thru "normal" means.

I guess I'm spinning my wheels: others here using speed hacks, tile hacks, running other illegal 3rd party BS to run thru gravestones...

I would say that, yes, this has to be stopped. By all means submit as much information as you're able to the Dev team by email and/or PM.
There is unlikely to be an immediate response, it's Sunday morning, so try to keep your anger in check when posting. Keep it factual and informative.

Could you mass dispel off screen? Or mass dispel with a blue? I know it wouldn't solve anything in long run though.

Damn...and I know this idea wouldn't fix anything, but I miss the old days when you could make a moongate and peoples' pets would go through it. Even then, all the guy needs to do now is have a log-in and out script, I guess. And then when it comes to wither spam, or hell, a necro mage in general, doing a corpse skin, exp, fs macro...lol you know, no offense, but I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I didn't realize cheats have gotten this absurd. I mean hell, guy could 10-box a harry lol geez...

Until EA has something like Punkbuster it's only going to get worse. I'm not really sure what can be done. It's sort of like a mob boss getting pinched for a fender bender when he murdered a few dozen people, I guess the devs just have to find some sort of repetition while the cracker plays, maybe catch something in the stream, but I doubt they can trace the program and get him for that specifically. I don't know though.

I do not believe this will stop multi-boxing as I do not think he is having his characters follow each other. They actually receive commands from one client and send it to the next client from what I am understanding. I seen this guy at the bane event, when he talked they all talked, was pretty insane.

There is a human being running the characters. He's not afk or anything.
He just has 10-13 screens open. He uses an illegal program to link the accounts to one macro set.
He hit's his F1 key and all the characters cast greater heal for instance.
He hits his F5 and all his characters cast ebolt, uses one character to target and all 10-13 characters target that one target with ebolt.

Get it?

Please clean up the non-relavent, trolling, or personal attack posts.

This needs the attention of the DEVS and doesn't need to turn into w/e else usually happens on uHall.

To clear up the misinformation and disinformation in this thread:

This particular instance of multi-clienting is done with the full knowledge and permission of Mythic. The person responsible for setting up the system has great respect for Ultima Online, pace his critics. We both made sure, actually DOUBLY sure, that the setup was legal before he organized it and went public. The developers are already aware and have been so since well before the rest of the UO public learned of it.

Further, the person responsible does not cheat, run illegal scripts, hack, disrupt events, or perform any of the other socially reprehensible actions I'm sure we all disapprove.

I have extreme difficulty in believing the controlling of multiple clients with one keypress is intended use of multi-clienting. Normal use allows only one client to be active at once.
