if an item is cursed does it mean there is a greater chance of getting it when stealing blindly or is it just the same as everything else ie luck of the draw

i am trying to figure out how to use my ninja for more then just a thief and i would like to remove snooping so i can add tactics may even remove magery for anatomy

Cursed means that the item drops to your corpse when you die. Cursed items cannot be insured, blessed, retrieved by the Sacrifice res, etc etc.

Edit: So in terms of stealing, it's all luck of the draw. If you random steal on a person, and you end up trying to steal something blessed or insured, you won't be able to steal it. If you random steal and get a cursed item, then you'll be able to steal it (with the requisite skill). So it's definitely a better idea to target the cursed item instead.

Actually, thieves should have "only" been able to blind steal anyway. The notion that someone could open your backpack, on your back and look at each and every item you have, and then be selective on what they take, was ridiculous. A thief is really nothing more than a "pickpocket" anyway.

Are you seriously knit-picking about something in a game where we have dragons, gates that take us all over the place by magic, people able to transform themselves into animal forms, elves, and trees that never fall down no matter how many times a lumberjack whacks at them with an axe?

Actually, we do...

Using Stealing

To randomly steal an item:
Click the blue gem next to the skill on your skill list.
Target a container, creature, NPC or player.
If successful, a random item from your target appears in your backpack.
Sometimes it's not about the item that you get. Sometimes it's just about the chase.
