Statue Engraving Tools

While on a recent trip to Atlantic I decided to grab a few Statue Engraving tools as Oceania STILL has not got them available on our tinker vendors.

I picked up 20 Statue engraving tools - So, if you see Mezzac about just ask and you can have one - First come first severed until they gone - No charge

Tinkers have "Statuette Engraving Tools", is that the same thing? I take it they're meant to engrave the player statues rather than the mini monster statuettes, though, as they don't work on the latter.

I can't seem to get the tool working with player statues, either. What exactly are they meant to engrave?

Ahh, yes they are finally available - went looking on a couple of diff vendors from the few I had been checking.

My understanding is that they engrave player made statues and the ones you can get off the rat mages as loot.

As in obsidian statues/mason stuff? Sounds like a completely random thing to engrave.. like making dyeable broccoli or cheese wheels that tell time.

I was wondering myself if it was the mason items or if it meant those vet reward ones (which why youd engrave i dunno)
Does sound like it would be handy for PR events and the such

Mm, I was thinking it'd be good for role-played stuff, which surprises me as they don't add many items of purely RP value. I wonder if this was requested by players. Good for trophies and the like, too.

Tried it on mason items, it works. I still think the name of the tool is almost entirely misleading.

Is it carpentry you have to gm before you can read the masonry book?
Because this may just solve a problem for me if i can engrave some lil statues

Yup, only GM Carpenters can read the book needed for stone masonry. I think you also need carpentry on your character (not stoned off) to craft them.

Are you trying to put a GM mark on something for events, like "Crafted by Grand Champion"? Or just personalised statues of characters, etc?

Hopeing to have them char named for a spesh event. create a char called Winner for example craft the items in diff colours and then engrave on them.
but i have to finish carpentry first *laughs*

PoC has been using engraving tools on statues for awhile now we have used them as comemoritive items like when a guild member passed away, we have also used them for guild events and house team events.

We also have some crafters that soul stone skills and mark items such as fishing rods with event names.
