state of Siege?

I was thinking of checking it out in the next few weeks just to see, but from reading the boards, Siege is even worse off these days? In which case, I don't care to put forth any money to EA to pay for something I won't be playing at all.

So, how is Siege doing? Please be honest...

I just came back. Not very much PvP but the new expansion has added some pretty neat skills. Killing farmers in the new lands and sigils will get you PvP. I think every person I've fought so far has had taming though....

I've spent a more time on Siege lately. It's hard to run into other people sometimes. But Siegers have an active forum presence, so I know they're out there.

Unfortunately, the are much more people stalking the forums then actually play.

Im hanging mine up soon. Id say almost two years of not actively playing is enough waiting for something to happen.

Yep, still playing as much as I can with the little one around. I jump on Siege first, if nothing is going on, I go hunt on Lake Austin.

Funny it seems like 25 people are waiting for Siege to pick up...imagine if we all logged on at the same time, could be the tipping point for Siege.

We seem to all agree how tight the community is, lets try to do have a Play UO night!

Pick one night a week and do a community Harry or something like that, maybe chain a boss down in the abyss.

Over the last 3 weeks I have logged on every other day and its been dead, maybe summer time, maybe not...

I hope we can get something together as I enjoy UO quite a bit and would be sad to see go. I cant think on anything else that gives you so much fun for such little $$, well at least it used too.

many of us are still here , but we arent exactly hanging out in luna .
borg has been on the fringes doing some pvm stuff.

el-ninio is still factions but with jsv all but gone , he sees little action lately .

im still hoping they make some real improvements to factions . i hear they are working some new ideas on test center but so far it hasnt reached the regular shards ... still no idea what will happen when it lands on siege . i guess we'll see.

in the mean time i've been spending most my time building imbuing on unclesham .

Howdy, Masu... Good to see ya! Siege is in pretty bad shape. Certainly the worst shape I have ever seen it, but hopefully help is on the way. Cal, the producer of UO, is trying to work with us on some changes we think may help Siege. It all depends on whether or not he and the dev team come through for us. We may see a few minor changes as soon as July, but because their publish schedules are planned in advance, there will be no serious dev time for us until this fall.

So, for now we wait. In the meantime, we sure could use more people logging in!

I'm an outside observer, but you guys should seriously consider making skill gain and character slots exactly like production shards. I would imagine that doing so would be low lying fruit. If you have to wait until fall, it might be too late. Note that if this is done, the only reasons why people wouldnt want to play Siege would be housing and insurance.

Done with Darkfall already? Was it everything you thought it would be or did it fall short?

Not trying to flame, just curious, haven't played UO that much recently, been tinkering with WoW and City of Heroes. . . Most likely hanging it up again in UO until I get the urge again, but those urges are further and further apart and the time playing is getting shorter and shorter...

So looking for something new, curious if DF is worth checking out.

DF is definitely worth checking out.

It's UO in 3d pretty much. The 3d part is something some ex-UOers don't like... but if you find you like the style of PvP... it's the best thing since sliced bread.
