Stables full need to change pet. Request for a pet SWAP

I have seen countless threads about adding stable slots. Where I see issues on both sides, I find myself there is an issue at hand. If I have out my pet limit and my stables are full I can do nothing but RELEASE my pet. In which any tamer worth his salt will have bonded and train said pet.
What I am calling for is the ablity to SWAP my pet that takes up same # for slots without requiring the pet you have out to be released. I think this is a very simple request with adding any power play issues.

Just removeing the need to remember how many pets ya got ... no need for "prior planning"

I think this is a very simple request with[out] adding any power play issues.

hmmmm
If I have out my pet limit and my stables are full I can do nothing but RELEASE my pet.

how'd that happen ? .... one of the stable pop a foal?

I like this idea. I hate having to release a pet just to have a new one. If you could swap it would help. I still wish they would add more stable slots but swapping would help if they aren't going to.

You said what I said as I read the threads. I thought this may be more likely to happen thus why I tossed it out there to see if there are sharks in the water before jumping in.

lets think about it logically though:

if you have a stable with 10 stalls and they are all full, how can you swap a pet you are holding with one of the ones in a stall without controlling both at the same time and without putting 2 pets into one stall? By the laws of the game we cannot control more than our alloted 5 pet slots.

Granted, a stable master would surely be able to help out, but if so then the temporary change of ownership/control should unbond the pet being moved...

Well, how about having an extra stable slot that cannot remain filled and can only be accessed via the "swap" command. You could even have the stable master charge extra for using the swap command.. you know, for the trouble of having to keep a few extra stalls cleaned out and ready for all of us greedy tamers who want to exchange "fLuFfY" for "fLuFfY5".

See what talking about an issue can do? It brings up all kinds of new solutions to existing problems. Thank you for you thoughtful reply.

[/ QUOTE ]Yes I saw the other responces, dont agree with them or your response. There is no reason the pet should unbond because you hand it to the stable master to be stabled.

And noone is saying anyone should control more than 5 pets, the just want to get their other pet out and put the one they have away.

Look at craftmen, you got a pack mule for extra hauling, you got a fire beetle for minning, and you got a blue beetle for hauling and riding. To get a fire beetle out you have to pull the mule out first, then put the blue beetle away, then get the fire beetle out, then put the mule away.

A stable master swap pet command would be a great idea especially for craftsmen.

swapping one pet for another pet maybe something like a trade window thing but only for use at the stable with the stable guy
so you trade a cu for a 5 slot dragon, this would only work if you were locked out of your stable.....
which happened to me when I found out the new 5 slot dragon I just got I could not stable because my stable was full & had to release.
go figure with all the pets & pretty colors etc. LOL
but a bump in stable slots for everyone would be really NICE!

great idea
as a tamer it's always been a pain when your out hunting and you find a better pet to tame then get back to stables and find out you can't stable it.
of course releasing the pet you just tamed and then unstabling and releasing a stabled pet then retaming the new tame(pet) makes it harder to tame, and control is lessened aswell ( last i knew anyhows).

retaming an animal you previously owned doesnt increase taming difficulty

Taming & releasing makes the creature unhappy and more difficult for a different person to tame (and you have to feed them QUICK or they go wild pretty much instantly if they have been tamed-released by enough people), but the owner has 100% chance to retame. At least that is how it used to be. The exception is if you own a cu sidhe and are a human tamer.
(Almost lost my blue doggie permanently because of this).

Losing the bond is a big deal. Everyone does the stable shuffle - crafters especially as was mentioned. I am always juggling with my packy, my forest ostard, and my 2 beetles.

I already have this. Everyone does.... its this magical things called Being aware of whats in my stables and making sure i always have an empty slot.

I think EA added it in when they made it so tamers could have more then two pets stabled. I mean realy, its just a common sense thing.

'I dont have any room in the stables, but i just tamed this dragon... oh woe is me....'

Well suffer in your jocks. Plan ahead!

My my... wrong side of the bed this morning, eh? Oh well - there are more reasons for a swap command than just to get more dragons. Obviously everyone knows CURRENTY if they want a new pet they have to release one. There are those of us, however, who want as many pets as we can have. My smith for example has a fire beetle, a blue beetle and a packy. I can stable two but not three. If I want to switch from my blue beetle to my fire beetle I have to remove the packy from the stables, stable my blue beetle, remove my fire beetle and then stable my packy. Yes, I can do that and have done this since fire beetles came out but it sure would be nice to just swap my two beetles when I want to. I see no harm in asking.

I have stable slots and control slots. I fail to see why I can't use them all in the most efficient way possible.

With new pets being added, This really needs to be brought up again.

hmmm i personally dont need more stablespace on my tamer but it be nice to have them for my other chars ...i mean my smith could have 5 bonded bets but i can only stable 2.

or you could even maake it a gold sink by a stable slot for a wek for 50k? gives you time to train that new pet and release the one beeing replaced back into the wild or sell it.

Nope its called pet management, most people who have problems use jewlery to raise their taming. if they really wanted more stable slots they would bring their taming up or release/sell a couple pets. as it is now you can fit at least 1 of every useful pet in the stables(tho I have 120 real tame skill) It is fine as it is no change needed.

Easiest solution for any chara is to just up the stable slots to accommodate more pets for all.

[/ QUOTE ]

This won't work because as soon as you use the other slots you will be right back to where you started at.

I have a very young tamer but I can already see how the swap pet function could be handy for every one. Like some one else mentioned something like the trade window would be nice.

As far as the argument goes about control slots being used during the swap process if you have ever been around a lot of horses, cows, and other livestock I am sure you will have seen people lead an animal out of a stall with one hand while leading another one in the stall with the other hand.

Why do some of you put yourself in the situation that you have 3 pets on rotation on your mule (beetle/forest/packy) & give that as a reason for more slots when you could just remove the packy & the forest & use the beetle for both? Ignoring also the fact that you can have all three of those out at once anyway. It almost sounds like people don't realise the beetle can be ridden/used as a pack animal.

There is a post requesting more slots ... This is not that post,, This one is about having a full stable and swapping out with your current pet with one INSIDE the stable without releasing your current pet...

I locked my vet at 110 and carry a ring with 10 vet on it so I actually cant find myself in this position. This saves me the head head ache in the long run where getting my self to 120 vet would be easy its not all together necessary.

Well if we had more stable slots, you wouldn't need to worry about pet swapping and that would be a much easier fix to make. jmho

Hail: A new item called, "A crystal Ball of Pet Swaping". You target a pet, it goes into the crystal ball, it can only be released by the, "Stable Pet" command off a stablemaster.

Obtain Crystal Ball of pet swaping.
Find, and tame a pet.
Use crystal ball of pet swaping, by targeting new tamed pet.
This puts the pet into the Crystal ball.
Remove desired Pet from Stablemaster
Hit Stable Pet from stable master, and target Crystal ball of Pet Swaping.
tada.........

Would be a quest item, and have charges, and require something to recharge them. Could only have 1 pet in 1 ball at a time. Pets in Balls could be sold, transfered, ect.

Pet management?????? OMG I tell you what with over 40 characters I havn't a freaking clue who has what in the stable or how many.... I'm forever getting some neat new pet and trying to figure out who has the stable space for it..... Sure would be nice to either have a swap feature or just somthing where you can say or somthing to know how many slots you have available.... sorta like "I must concider my sins" but on a pet basis... Like asking the stable master how much room at the inn..... so to speak.... just my thoughts.

It doesn't matter it amounts to the same thing, if you can't swap pets because your stable is full then don't have a full stable.
