The mouse hole is old. It was there when sherry the mouse first appeared during the rat invasion of the britian sewers. There were mouse holes in the castle...I don't know if they are still there or not.

So the house scripting fix is a random decay timer plus not being able to constantly try placing a house. That will probably help a bit but serious placers will still be able to up their chances considerably.

People can always up their chances in anything. The best tactics is to make the people that want to up their chances frustrated. Why? Well if you sit and wait for the ultimate scripting/cheat fix... Nothing will every come. Sort of like the gov's inability to make change cause they are always blowing big picture smoke (but I stray).

I think it was composed specifically for UO.
The author for the mp3 files is listed as Michael Gluck, aka Piano Squall - www.pianosquall.com - and somebody (Drac?) recently commented that he got inspired by UO and composed some new music scores for the game.
I like the music very much, but I agree with you - it's not too Ultima-specific.
Except for Festival: that one definitely had an Ultima feeling!

I think Honor is my favorite.. reminds me very much of the music from Lazarus. Honestly though, all four are really pretty good. They don't quite have the classic feel of the old Ultima songs, but they still fit the world well.

I think obsidian and blackrock are two different elements.

Conversation with Guenno is not nearly as produced as pieces like "Medieval". There is more depth to the newer tunes. I like them.

Obsidian blades sound a bit weak if their armour ignore is only 1% :/

.. If you have to wait an extended time, is going to really REALLY piss off some honest players, such as myself.

The other day I came back to place a house in a location I had destroyed one months ago (Demolished the house for quick cash.. Not much to store anyway).

It took me about 30 attempts to place a house of the exact same size in the approximate exact same location. I know there was enough space, but since they can't get the damn targeting cursor to work accurately (Or even better, intelligently), it's a roll of the dice if you hit the right spot or not.

Oh well. We'll see.
