It's not hard to limit what color can be used on pets for dyes. Can even make it quest or reward gift from the Moonglow zoo.

It's not just the color, it's the presentation as well. Partial hueing will simply look MUCH better regardless of the colors chosen than the way they were shown when the issue originally showed up.

And as for the one person's "If you don't like them, don't use them", ok, genius, explain how we won't have to deal with other people who DO dye their pets eye-sore colors?

I am not saying I want neon colored pets, but what's the difference between people running around with neon colored weapons, armor and clothes and some pets do have those hues as well to pet dyes? There are neon colored hiryus and blaze Cus, are they eye sores that people come here to complain. I don't see people complaining about that, so why single out tamers who want to personalize thier characters some.

Some pets are MUCH bigger than others, and at events where people bring out their armies of greater dragons, it's going to turn into technicolor hell.

Hiryus and Cus are much smaller than dragons, and are also internally hued in a more reasonable manner than what was given as examples when the idea was first floated.

You all seem to forget that pet dyes have been removed from the update...

Thus discussing the pending pet dyes is rather fruitless...

pet dyes could be done tastefully, for example the old special dye tub
those are some pretty natural colors
or the pet air fresheners on test ( too make it fair no glacial)

I volunteer to be the taster of pet dyes, I've got one of those palates !!!

You guys have raised an important point I think :

Definately a pay (1 vote per account) pseudo-democratic poll is needed, this way its quick and easy to get everyone's opinions. We could even make this a community task, to authentify the members of the poll in game... no work for the devs ; more credibility for stratics, an outlet for the most frustrated to have a voice.

So after color police it'll be karma police !

I'm too tired I'm sure you guys can pick up from here...

Why is it all the naysayers are crying about there would neon pets everywhere? They were abysal colors not neon the most standoutish would prob be the abysal teal one an as many have pointed out there is already neon pets in the game.Color nazis should quit their crying and simply dont use em if they dont want em.How i color my pet shouldnt be up to the few who dont like the idea.U can have all those neon colored armor/weaps/houses/vendors an everything else but if i have an abysal colored pet it will hurt your enjoyment of the game...Sounds like lil whiny spoiled brats to me.What ever happened to "to each his own"?

If there were ever pet dyes.. they better be either:

A.) War paint

B.) Natural colors
I agree with this. Extra natural hues... Although I would prefer is we had additional hues that spawned naturally thus giving us opportunities to get them the skill way versus through a bottle. Either way, some natural hues would be cool enough.

In the end it won't change my gameplay much anyway, so really it doesn't matter.

I don't think pet dye would be an issue as long as it was not some super bright shocking color. Adding some new differentiation might be a great idea. Of course it probability would require some art updates. But I think we should go more with personalizing our characters and pets not less, so I think it would be worth the time.

IMHO you will never see this. Look at the Bless deeds Clean-up Brit 2011. It appears that the Devs or whoever is running UO now listens to a select group of players (whinners) more than they listen to the majority of the UOStratics player base. UOStratics UO players are not the majority of the UO player base and until UO sets up an in-game polling system the few that UO Devs listen to (whinners) will control this.

Just my 2 cents.
