Gilfane [GIL] January Auction Results
GSF Auction January '17 - [SITH] place a three-story house next to the [GIL] auction house, repeatedly interrupt auction (and kill numerous [GIL] members in the process). [SITH] Guild members unilaterally banned from future auctions, [SITH] declares [GIL] kill-on-site. In a deliciously ironic twist of fate, [HI-5] arrives and aids [GIL] by routing [SITH], then leaves the auction.
The Governors' Council Replaces the King's Council
Siege Community Council 1/21/2017 - Kelmo organizes a discussion with some current Governors about replacing the King's Council that EM Bennu disbanded. Kelmo hosts several shard meetings to discuss a framework, comes under fire for undertaking significant discussions on the [GIL] forums. Freja hosts a town meeting for Safe Haven to determine representation at the new Governors' Council. (Current status of the Council unknown, need an update from Kelmo).
EM Bennu's Final(?) Event: Stealing Bennuite Crystals
So what happen? - Criticized for hosting the events at days and times unpopular with large portions of the shard, EM Bennu announces that Mesanna will be replacing him with a new Event Moderator. He mentions that she received several e-mails about him from shard members. In his final event, EM Bennu tells the assembled members that an earthquake has uncovered several rare crystals in Fire Dungeon. These "bennuite" are cursed, and can only be obtained by stealing them from their location. 25 are scattered throughout Fire, and participants find them relatively quickly. The event seems well-received.
[ICY] Hosts Their First Shard Hell House
(Player Event) - HELL HOUSE - Ice Cove Events HOUSE WON BY AXTONZ now open to public see inside for details - [ICY] members create a puzzle house and it opens at select times for Siege players to attempt. The player who can reach the top floor and solve the puzzle is promised a substantial reward, which is supplemented by additional gold from Kelmo. The house resists the efforts of many players but is finally solved by Axtonz of [GIL] on the third night. The house claims the sanity of at least one Siege member in the process (Calavera of [SPHS]). [ICY] leaves the house open temporarily for players to continue attempting it. (Need verification that it was sold on the third night)
The Battle of Umbra
(Player Event) - The Battle of Umbra - Some players attempted to disrupt the Hell House event, and PVP fighting spilled over to Kelmo's Umbra Hub. Nadir of [HI-5] posted a video of the fight that included Max Blackoak of [TBB], Dexter Blackoak of [TBB], Hunter Perilous, Cherokee of [BIG], Nadir of [HI-5], Pinkerton of [MAD!], Steve of [HI-5], Morrolan of [HI-5], and Crunch of [HI-5] in a prolonged PVP engagement during which Crunch and Nadir carried the majority of the action against Max, Pinkerton, Hunter, and Cherokee.
The Inaugural United Workers of Siege Perilous [UWSP] Medieval Festival
(Player Event) - 1st UWSP Town Medieval Festival - [UWSP] hosted a Medieval Festival at their new player-run town in Malas. Events included a jousting match and a crafting contest. The winners were:
Knight Tournament: 1st Place Lord Creeger, 2nd Place Lord Brutus, 3rd Place Lord Blind Otto.
Crafting Tournament: 1st Place Lady Talia (of [SPHS], BOOM!), 2nd Place Lady Saoirse Kilkenny, 3rd Place Lord Blind Otto
The [SPHS] Siege Perilous 2017 Winter Fishing Tournament
[SPHS] Shard Fishing Tournament! 1/29-2/4 2017 - The newly formed Siege Perilous Historical Society [SPHS] guild hosted a shard wide fishing tournament beginning at the end of January. In addition to offering prizes to capture the largest fish in several categories, the [SPHS] is also recording all time records and encouraged players to provide screenshots or the location of publicly verifiable record holders. ii of [GIL] the tournament with a bang by capturing a 225 stone Big Fish. This may well be the largest fish ever caught on the shard! The tournament runs through February 4.

- Player Shiver Me Timbers has been spotted abroad, and his spouse has been sighted on these very forums recently. Could this be the return of substantial piracy in the realm? Could GarthGrey's title as King of the Sea finally be challenged?
Igg A Pie Retires from Siege
- Long time guild leader of the Brave Amateurs [B^A] and trusted facilitator of trades between production servers and Siege Perilous, Igg A Pie divested himself of one of the greatest rares collections on the shard, gave away his castle, and returned to prodo. This was a sad day on an otherwise positive month.
Influx of New Siege Players
- Tanager continues to shepherd [NOOB] along, supporting players new to the shard. General Chat has been lively this month with several new players training and farming resources. If you are a new player, please join [NOOB] to help you get started!
