From the CC EC users essentially appear to be speedhacking also, so remember that when making accusations. (I was kinda freaked out when i returned a few years ago, last I played 3d client meant the "third dawn" client, so I didn't know about the EC, and a lot of people's movements looked like they were speedhacking while running around, at first i couldnt believe how many people were cheating, then i realized it's just poor handling of the EC's new movement system on the server. Speedhacking is also nearly indistinguishable from someone further from the server seeing someone close to the server (most notably, if someone has half your ping, their movement will appear a little glitchy to you in UO due to them being able to get at least 2 updates in for each 1 of yours, meaning your view will be skipping some of their frames of movement)
Should be said too even programs like punkbuster won't work though, as it's trivial to hide from them, especially with how the UO speedhacks work. (all something like that would do is, like every other game that implemented something like punkbuster, mess up a good 5-10% of the computers it's installed on and cause a lot of players to quit). VAC and warden, lol...sure..that's why NOBODY bots in counter strike or WOW.
UO style speedhacking though is generally just lag compensation (making your client act like 0 ping), which a lot of games have built in now anyways, so the real solution is to just build lag compensation into the client so the speed we run isn't tied to our ping anymore, that would double for helping those on slower connections actually be able to compete. (for all other styles of client side botting, just like sucessful CS/UT/TF servers, there's only ONE true solution...and admin/GM who shows up, investigates, and bans botters when paged)
