Speculation on Trade Ins. Useful Info.

FOR YOU MERCHANTS. I recommended you think wisely before selling berserkers, vorpals, pryros, and Mystic weapons. These appear to be ones of most value. So make sure you get a good price. Id bet they hit 1 million a weapon initially. Once you see the marketed flooded with REWARDS the price will fall.

TRADE INS

Blackrock. (NOT IN TURN IN)
Cursed Arties. (IN TURN IN)

Moonglow Event
Planes Sword and Shield (IN TURN IN)
Threads of Life and Fate (NOT IN TURN IN)
Cloaks of Corruption (NOT IN TURN IN)

Magencia Invasion
Rubble (IN TURN IN)
Demon Blood (NOT IN TURN IN)
Staff of Pyros (IN TURN IN)
Berserker Scythes (IN TURN IN)
Vorpal Blades(IN TUN IN)

Ophidain Invasion
Ophidian Rations (IN TURN IN)
Snake Skins (IN TURN IN)
Ophidian Orders (IN TURN IN)
Journals (IN TURN IN)
Power Ophidian Staff or Bardiche (IN TURN IN)
Vanq Ophidian Staff or Bardiche (IN TURN IN)
Mystic Ophidian Staff of Bardiche (IN TURN IN)
Berserkers Bardiche (IN TURN IN)

Rat Coins (order of least to most value)
Copper (IN TURN IN)
Silver (IN TURN IN)
Gold (IN TURN IN)
(DONT BUY ITEMS ANYWHERE WITH RAT COINS IN YOUR PACK OR BANK. THEY WILL BE USED UP)

Other related turn-in items
Power, Vanq, Mystic Weapons. (IN TURN IN)

What Else Am I Missing?

What will we get?
Thats the problem. Arties are pretty much all around. Runic have had a nice bump. Hammers are more available. Weapons? Probably will have some sort of decay. Dyes? Do we need more?

So I will speculate there will be a whole new realm of rewards plus old stuff.

1. Power Scrolls (NOT A REWARD)
2. Decorative Statues (GOT THIS ONE RIGHT)
3. 10 charge Metal Dyes (NOT A REWARD)
4. Housing add-ons (NOT A REWARD)
5. Clothing (GOT THIS ONE RIGHT)
6. Weapons with repair limits (NOT A REWARD)
7. Stat Scrolls (NOT A REWARD)
8. Alacrity Scrolls (GOT THIS ONE RIGHT)
9. Runic Hammers (NOT A REWARD)
10. Ingredients/Gems (NOT A REWARD)

I think it will be 1 for 1 trade in. All with chances for big stuff. But the rarer stuff of course gets bump. (WRONG)

Why 1 for 1? I dont see items having so much value that people would trade in 10 pieces of blackrock for 1 item. Or want to trade in 10 ophidian orders for 1 item.

Maybe rubble and planes swords and shields will go 10 for 1.

Or perhaps items for trade-ins wont be ranked for rarity and it will be 10 of any of the above gets you something? That would seem the easiest to program. But that might be lame.

What do you all think?

I think it will end up being something like 10 for 1. Rather than 1 for 1. Like the tokuno trade-ins.

Or just maybe they will be traded in combinations to get new and wonderous never before seen items in the game, since they've had 3 or 4 years to get it together...

I had a thought about the Threads and the Corrupted Cloak:

Use the 3 Threads of Life on a Corrupted Cloak and create "Cloak of Life" (HP +5, HP Regen 3)

Use the 3 Threads of Fate on a Corrupted Cloak and create "Cloak of Fate" (Random Stat +5, Random Regen +3)

a 10 to 1 turn in ratio would make my day really but I have the feeling it will be more like 25+ to 1 based on the number of items people have saved up.

I still think the turn in ratio should be relatively low because the turn ins are for items we have collected for so long some people will not have much to show. Anyone who missed the previous events is going to be left hanging.

Perhaps it will be like the books of truth reward option. Go to the NPC with a bunch of stuff, get a list of items and requirements as to what you should turn in to get X item, and then you get it.

Hopefully it's a list a mile long and there are a ton of pixel crack to hold us over for the next year or two while they delay SA.

Blackrock Infected boxes. How could you miss these in U.Hall?

I'm hoping these get involved in some way for a combination of turning in stuff. Like Bods. Add cloak+thread+sword+sheild inside a box = ultra rare.

Since we're speculating might as well go for broke hehe

The wisp blackrock infected boxes are fun collectables. I have 3. They are the hardest to get but I dont think they will be for turn-ins.

i like the idea that they did with turnin in the blackrock a while back, give them a blackrock and get a random item, could have some ok items and some really rare hard items to get, would make some worth more and some worth less, but its all random, keeps it interesting for people and make em want to keep turnin in, if its anything like the books of truth that wasnt much of a fun turn-in few things to get and all the same and we knew what to work for.

Maybe they can give more IOU's. Or maybe, just make all the items go *poof* with no reteurn.

But the point of this would be to reduce the number of items we have sitting around.. a 1:1 trade system wouldn't do that.

It would somewhat reduce the items...many of the items given in the blackrock turn in where stackable (Peerless Ingrediants), or perishable (Runic Hammers), so the total items would still go down quite a bit...

Well since we are including everything for turn in, I nominate, "Practice Weapons". I also thing turn in items should be as a whole, and be able to be combined. 5 to 1= 3 plain swords, 1 ophidian orders, 1 rubble. This way, if you missed an event, or have a few things from several events, they are not useless. 10 to 1 of the same item, and you have 8 of them = to bad for you.

yea i dont necessarily mean a 1:1 but use the same concpet keep it random and interesting, and new items for the rewards not like that where you just got stuff already in the game, newer items and maybe some unique.

Cakes! We will get cakes, many cakes! Still waiting for cake or reason why stopping the gifts so fast was supposed to be funny.

As for new toys... consider this, Mrs. K. bothered to reproduce the neat bear and horse graphics for us, albeit smaller. Maybe she made some new things.

With all due respect to rares collectors the world over, are they not already ruined? Duped? Well many?

I see the logo that says say no to dupes ...

Anyways there are many pure deco items ingame that no rare player ever had. Maybe that will be how its done, if done that is.

The "cake" part was d funny to me for a different reason. I have not heard of "Portal".

I wanted a tenth anniversary cake and never got one. That is why is was funny to get IOU to me.

What was not funny and never will be funny to me is this... they stopped giving the gifts after one day. Since I do not log all my characters in daily I missed out. That was just mean imho. Mean spirited. And in case anyone wonders , no, I will never get over it. Ever... I cantolerate alot ingame and irl but never meanness.

I just hope somehow in all this upcoming new toys potential mess that Magincia gets rebuilt.

Make up your mind, you silly bugger; if you think pixels are so lame, why do you want mine in addition to yours?

EDIT: Note to Cyrah - I would guess that the reason they didn't give out April Fools boxes past April Fools Day is that they weren't real presents, and you can really only pull a good April Fools joke on April Fools Day. If you play on Lake Austin, though, you're welcome to one of my boxes and its non-cake. Heehee!

That gets my vote! Should a 3 year old Christmas gift be worth the same as a new one? An old V-day card vs one from the past two years? It should be points on how old and how rare and just about everything should be included. How about personal bless deeds, paragon chests, DC runic hammers, valentines gifts and anything else they can think of. We want to get rid of this stuff so a list of things for an item is out of the question. Maybe a few items but certainly not all. If I could make the list I'd even include normal wood, iron, weapons, armor, reward cloth, enhanced bandages, seeds, BODs, rare plants etc. It seems like a list could be made of about everything and assign points to it. One for one turn in would be defeating the purpose of a clean up if that's what this really is. Random items stink. Give us a choice and how many points it will take to get an item we are after.
My 2 cents.

Many people are thinking event items will be a reward for the turn in so this would be nice addition. For the few handful of rare collectors this could sting a tad but would it be any less than the constant rare nerfs over the years? I just hope the turn in is being thought out and unique because if I get another rehued item I might puke on my cpu

The next publish also contains some awesome event stuff, which Origin will be the first to see later in the week, including some ways to for all you obsessive hoarders get your lockdown counts down :p

[/ QUOTE ]

This was posted in on the Herald. I am guessing that maybe the turn ins will be >1 to 1 at least, unless they're greating items to increase storage space. I just hope that the ratio doesn't leave out the people who missed the past events. Would be kind of sad to do that, especially if you want new players to actually keep playing your game.

Just my thoughts. Although I am sure some older player just don't care about newer players or returning vets.

Anyway, I have about 5 cloaks now, ~30 threads and slightly less swords/shields. And if you really want to use that black rock for something, go cast armageddon twice on shadowlords, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a cloak then. PS - You don't need to drop the black rock, just make sure its in your main pack and not another bag inside your pack.

i didnt bother read past the first post sorry

anything we can get for the trade in is going to be fairly useless, all of the items we can trade in are items that people have tons of and were easy to acquire

the only thing of value i could see them giving us is tokuno dyes and thats a slim chance

G

Guest

Guest
That assumes that each trade-in is of equal value. What if it takes 10 donations to get the first reward, 20 more to get a second, 30 more to get a third and so on (counted by account, 30+ day accounts only)? It would be interesting to see what would happen if you had a Tokuno-style turn-in NPC and a blackrock-style turn-in NPC (with mostly lesser stuff, but a slim chance of a "great item") side-by-side.

But I somehow suspect that it will be revealed to be a community collection.

I posted about that too in a couple of threads.

Seems the most logical idea - they did it on the Halloween shard 2 years ago I think (a modified version, I mean). Have maybe one NPC per event (so, four at least) and each one decorates the shard with perma deco somehow.. maybe even just a statue tellign you how much has been handed in. Then you get tier based rewards (Ophidian statues, serpent pillars).

Another point though;

Since cloaks of corruption apparently won't be an item that can be handed in, I guess this is because of it's rarity. So items that probably won't be handed in, I think may be:

- Original blackrock pieces (there aren't that many, tbh)
- Staves of Pyros and Vorpal Blades (in the original announcement it said that there was a rare chance for one of these to drop - so they weren't intended to be hugely common)
- Small blackrock pieces (can still be mined - for now - but they are also consumeable - not purely decorative)
- Possibly Berserker's bardiches, because despite having 5 or 6 myself, I know many didn't ever get one.
- Berserker's Scythes for the same reason - although much more common, cloaks of corruption are also acquired in the tens by some people and aren't going to be handed in.
- Possibly mystic, power, vanq weapons. They might still be useful in coming invasions and have been obtainable at all 3 invasions since the despise attack on Britain.

It is possible that the above may have high turn-in value, but given that they are not purely decorative and all have a use (certainly the staff of pyros and blackrock), they serve as commemorative and historical reminders of their respective events. The scythes and blackrock may be an exception because they were linked to multiple events, but I think that blackrock could still have a purpose, even after P52.

Items I think are pretty certainly going to be handins:

Ophidian Orders, rations, journals
Snake skins
All 3 types of rat coins
Magincia rubble (at least some of it, crumbly walls, possibly plants, other building pieces)
Threads of fate and Threads of life

Ophidian bardiches and the sceptre things are a possibility, but again they may be considered similar to the cloaks of corruption. Saying that, the power bardiches were pretty common.

Ultimately you have to ask yourself two things - the first is do you have a lot of the item, and secondly did you purposefully try and farm it. Ophidian rations etc were on nearly everything you killed. Many people didn't or couldn't loot it all. Cloaks of corruption, however, are awarded three per kill but are obtained from not the most common and easiest to kill of enemies.

I have one request for the turn-in.....

That there be some "good guy" RP reason to do it.

What I mean by this is that it NOT be like the Blackrock turn-in at Haven, where you basically participated in the destruction of the town.

I mean something like, "The Crown has determined that if we build this really big machine, it will help us against the Shadowlords. We need _____." Along similar lines to the building of the big machine in Castle British, that was used to drop Exodus's shields so we could go into the Exodus Dungeon and fight to free the Gargoyle City.

Please don't give us robed, obviously figures handing out goodies, practically wearing a sign that says "Hi I'm evil, all your stuff are belong to us."

Interesting......but it would make more sense to have the Cloak of Corruption part of it. Ya know....to reward those that hung onto their BR instead of turning it in to the evil guys before.....and used it to take down the VERY evil guys now....
