This is just an idea for a new combat special move mana cost system.
Pretty much you'd use stamina instead of mana for special moves that are combat related. And the only way to get lower mana costs would be to invest in combat skill points since there is not lower stamina cost items. This would be balanced out by having +3 stam regen capabilities on armor and the focus skill would actually be more beneficial for a dexer now (not saying it isn't.. just more).
Obviously total refresh potions and divine fury would need a make over. They'd just give a burst regen for a few seconds instead of the typical 100% refresh from either. (and a timer for re usage)
Yes taking mass damage would severely tamper with your ability to dish out damage, but then again a well set up dexer with focus would regen this stamina damage rather fast. In a way it makes sense the more you attack/take damage the more you fatigue and the slower you should become.
Lastly if non medable armor were to reduce the amount of stamina damage a player took that would stimulate players to wear the rather useless plate armor again and give it a purpose.
